Gwyneth Paltrow has said on numerous occasions that she doesn’t really give a fuck about acting anymore. I mean, did she care that much to begin with? She literally couldn’t remember the movies she was in or who was in them with her! Goopy hasn’t acted in anything in a while–her last IMDB credit is 2019’s The Politician. But as she tells Sunday TODAY‘s Willie Geist in a new interview, she doesn’t miss the business “at all.” “Right back at you,” said the business.
Back in 2019, Gwyneth said that she wasn’t “passionate” about acting anymore during a panel at Advertising Week New York. And a year later, she revealed on SiriusXM’s Quarantined with Bruce, that she actually lost interest in acting back in 1999 when she won the Best Actress Oscar for Shakespeare In Love. She had an existential moment of wondering what to do next and the “shine of the acting wore off.” Luckily for her, charging $500 for a face cream still gets her motor revving. People says that in her new interview, Gwyneth is clear that she’s more invested in Goop than acting:
“I don’t daydream about the movie business at all,” Gwyneth Paltrow says during an interview on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist
In an exclusive clip from Paltrow’s interview on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, the Goop CEO, 49, opens up about putting acting on the back burner in favor of becoming an entrepreneur.
“I really don’t miss it all. I think I’m so lucky that I got to do it, and I’m sure I still will at some point,” she says of her acting career. “The team is always trying to get me to do a movie, but I really love what I do and I love how immediate it is and how … we’re able to create product out of thin air that we believe in so much.”
The Oscar winner says the experience of developing products for her lifestyle brand Goop is “so powerful.” Paltrow adds that she doesn’t “daydream about the movie business at all.”
But she says that she promised her mother, Blythe Danner, that they would do a play together before Blythe dies.
“I did promise my mother at some point before I die, I told her I would go and do a play so… I’m gonna deliver on that promise at some point.”
We should definitely trust EVERYTHING Gwyneth Paltrow says and produces for Goop, but still, she’s lying here because she never left acting. I know that Gwyneth’s mind is run by delusion, but for years, she’s been acting like a medical expert and the premier authority on vaginas.
