Camila Cabello Got Booed By Fans At The Champions League Final And Tweeted That They Were “Very Rude”
On Saturday night, 80,000 fans arrived at the Stade de France in Paris to cheer on Camila Cabello as she performed a 5-minute medley of her biggest hits. JK, they were actually there for the 2022 UEFA Champions League football (the Ted Lasso kind, not the Superbowl kind) final between Liverpool and Real Madrid. Camila just happened to be the opening musical act. Unfortunately for many Liverpool fans, organizational fuckery and French security prevented them from entering the stadium; some were even tear-gassed outside the venue. Camila’s performance and the kick-off were delayed three times. Eventually, the UEFA decided to get on with the show, even though there were still empty seats and stranded fans. So how do we think Liverpool fans reacted to Camila Cabello’s performance? If you guessed “not well, bitch,” you would be correct.
Liverpool fans reportedly booed and sang their team’s anthem during Camila’s performance (they also booed Prince William at the FA Cup Final a couple weeks ago). But, unlike the Prince William incident, it doesn’t sound like the fans’ protests were about Camila, just the UEFA’s disorganization and refusal to let fans inside. But Camila took it personally, and took to Twitter to blast the fans, via GiveMeSport:
Playing back our performance and I can’t believe people were singing their teams anthem so loud during our performance. Like my team and i worked tirelessly for so long to bring right vibes and give a good show.
Then she added, “Very rude but whatever. IM GLAD U GUYS LOVED IT!!!!!!,” followed by six party-face emojis and three heart-face emojis. The tweets were quickly deleted, probably because someone on her team told her to nevah evah piss off Liverpudlian soccah fans. Camila has since posted videos of the performance to social media and kept her captions positive:
Liverpool went on to lose the match by one point. It’s hard not to blame Camila’s “vibes.” Liverpool fans were probably extra pissed that their beloved pop queen, Dua Lipa, wasn’t the one performing. Back in 2018, Dua Lipa opened for the team’s Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid in Kyiv. She performed her hit “One Kiss,” and, even though Liverpool also lost that night, fans adopted the song as one of their unofficial anthems:

If Liverpool fans really wanna stick it to Camila, they should become massive Normani stans. Let her be their “Motivation”!
