Sylvester Stallone Denies He’s A QAnon Conspiracy Type

If you were to predict which notable Hollywood actor would fall into the inescapable weirdo hole known as QAnon, I certainly would have put my money on a former Charles in Charge cast member, or a former Silver Spoons cast member. But the internet recently put on their detective hats to investigate a possible QAnon conspiracy theory when Sylvester Stallone popped up on Instagram wearing a hat that looked to have a Q on it. Some people thought that was Sly’s way of letting everyone know he worships at the altar of bogus conspiracy theories. But as Sylvester has let everyone know, the hat was just a hat.

This all started five days ago when Sylvester posted the following picture and caption that read: “Heading into the storm.”

The additional part about heading into a thunderstorm was added later, according to Uproxx. They write that originally, the caption was simply the line about heading into the storm, and that had some people worried, because “Heading into the storm” is a popular QAnon phrase. So Sylvester had to make the clarification. As for the hat, most people saw the letter Q in the middle of the design. And “Q” is the short-form way to refer to QAnon, so naturally, a whole lot of people thought that was Sylvester coming out as a QAnon nutcase.

Even though the logo on that hat doesn’t really look like what you’d find on an official QAnon hat, people still thought it was a clue. Because as mentioned above, Sylvester Stallone is right-leaning. Prior to the 2016 US Presidential race, he said that he “loved” Donald Trump as a candidate. And earlier this year, after being seen having dinner at Mar-a-Lago, he had to clear up a rumor that he had joined Donald Trump’s private Florida club (he says he was just an invited guest, and actually belongs to another club). A few days after that first hat pic went up online, Sylvester threw up several more and explained that it’s just the logo of a boat he had been on. via Instagram:

“For those incredibly inquisitive individuals, let me state unequivocally that the Q on this hat stands for QUANTUM OF SOLACE, the name of the boat I was on, NOT anything else ok? Relax…So folks, the moral of the story is…Enjoy your lives and let other people enjoy theirs…So Keep Punching!”

So there you have it. Sylvester Stallone, not a Hollywood-QAnon crossover type. That’s also great news for anyone who has ever appeared in the Expendables franchise with Sylvester, like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I don’t know if they have plans for another film in the series, but I do know Arnold is relieved to know that Sly won’t ever corner him on set with an unsolicited conspiracy bomb. (“Hey Arnold, you worked for the US Government. How many Democratic Senators were baby-eating lizard people? All of them, right?“)
