WWE’s Seth Rollins Was Tackled By A Fan During A Live Taping

35-year-old WWE Superstar, Seth Rollins, had a rough day at work recently. While his gig has literally been to wrestle with dudes and get knocked around in the ring, he didn’t expect it when one random fan decided he too would participate in the physical shenanigans and rushed Seth. While I would argue that the authenticity of the “fighting” in wrestling is questionable, this fight may have been real as hell.

Since Seth was jumped during a live taping of Raw in New York City, there’s plenty of video of it. Here’s one with some colorful commentary from the dude filming:

And here’s what it looked like on TV:

Mashable says the fan who attacked Seth is 24-year-old Elisah Spencer. Apparently, Elisah didn’t just randomly attack Seth. Elisah was catfished. Elisah believes he was talking to “WWE’s Seth Rollins” on WhatsApp and Google Hangouts. The catfisher somehow got into contact with Elisah and while pretending to be Seth Rollins asked Elisah to send him money. Seth Rollins’ real name isn’t even Seth Rollins. It’s Colby Lopez. via Mashable:

It’s unclear what reason the Rollins account gives for why he’s asking a stranger online to send him money. It’s also unclear if Spencer sent him the money and, if so, how much. However, the messages follow patterns often found in online money order and bank check scams.

In a separate conversation, the Rollins account tells Spencer that he will send him a check. These scams usually work as follows: Spencer would be told to cash the check and send a certain amount to another individual. As for the extra leftover sum? Spencer could keep it, a reward for helping out Rollins. The scam, however, is that the check is fake and Spencer would be on the hook for whatever money he sent to the individual whom the scammer asked him to send it to. And a version of this seems to be what actually happened.

So Elisah was at RAW to get revenge. He was arrested and charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs.

TMZ caught up with Seth at LAX and asked him about getting attacked:

“It’s terrifying, brother,” Rollins said, providing a play-by-play of the incident. “It happened very quickly. I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security would come and do their job. Which they did very quickly. And then was just trying to detach and move on. Hope that everybody is okay.”

After the attack there was confusion about whether the whole melee was part of the show … something Rollins shot down, saying, “once the tackle happened I knew what was going on. The guy was barreling around the corner.”

Luckily, Seth says he was not injured during the attack. “No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe. Everything was okay.”

Here’s Seth talking to TMZ:

Somebody call MTV and get Catfish: Celebrity Edition going. That woman who got swindled by a Brad Pitt catfisher will be the focus of episode one, Elisah will be the focus of episode two and they can also reach out to celebrities who have been catfished like Dina Lohan. There’s a full season worth.
