Kanye West And Drake Are Playing Nice, For Now

One of Kanye West’s most pointless feuds (and that’s saying a lot) might have finally come to an end. No, Kanye hasn’t finally dropped his gloves and stopped fighting the urge to wear normal-looking footwear. It’s pretty clear from that picture above that Kanye’s love affair with those hideous rubber hypebeast Frankenstein boots is still going strong. It’s that he’s no longer fighting with Drake, his sensitive nemesis of the north. Kanye declared last week that he officially wanted to bury the hatchet with Drake, a man he’s been publicly tormenting for years now, for the sake of a benefit concert. And Drake clearly took Kanye up on his offer to be friends again. Or at the very least, to stop acting like two petty teenage girls in public for a brief moment.

Kanye posted the picture above to Instagram yesterday, along with a simple caption featuring only the dove emoji (the emoji dove is holding an olive branch, get it?). Drake and Kanye posed alongside Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince, and TMZ says the friendship summit happened at Drake’s house. Although I didn’t need TMZ to clarify that information, I know that tacky mansion anywhere. As for how Kanye got to Drake’s house, that’s simple: he’s got the address!

There were rumors on Monday night that Kanye West was in Toronto to meet up with Drake, and they could have kept it going to build suspense, but Kanye went ahead and confirmed what everyone heard about 24 hours later. Drake posted two videos confirming their reunion. The first of Dave Chappelle, reportedly hosting a get-together at Drake’s house, and the second of Drake and Kanye with their arms around each other.

Kanye originally asked Drake if they could please stop fighting, because Kanye wanted Drake to perform at a December 7th benefit concert in Los Angeles for 70-year-old Larry Hoover, who is currently serving a life sentence in prison for murder, among other things, but has recently renounced gang activity, and Kanye has been working to have him pardoned. It’s not known if Drake will appear at the benefit, but considering he was open to inviting Kanye into his house, it wouldn’t be that surprising. However, there is one hitch, and it’s that the last time Drake appeared on stage was at the Astroworld music festival. Drake has been named in a $750 million lawsuit filed on behalf of 125 Astroworld victims. Drake surprised concertgoers by appearing on stage with Travis Scott, despite many in the audience begging for the show to be stopped. So if Drake does perform at Kanye’s show on the 7th, he should probably establish some ground rules first. Like making sure there’s plenty of room for people in the audience. On stage is a bit more complicated, of course. I’m not sure how much room Kanye needs to safely contain his ego. Is that kind of thing measured by volume or weight?
