Open Post: Hosted By The Black Bear Who Crashed A Wedding
Weddings can be boring, but a couple in Mexico got a treat when a young black bear unexpectedly honored them with its presence during the reception. Guest Angie Diaz, whose cousin was the one getting married, filmed the bear destroying Table 5, sniffing some guests, and bumbling his furry butt outta there. You can hear people banging in pots and pans in an effort to drive the bear away (party poopers). And while the bear was the one causing all the drama, the real scene-stealer was the older gentleman in blue who refused to stop eating his meal in this life-or-death emergency. Maaaaybe if it were a grizzly. But a black bear? Psh. Pass the salt.

In a follow-up video, Angie explained that she thinks the bear crashed to check out the yummy-smelling food. She said that the wedding took place at a hotel in Chipinque Ecological Park in Nuevo León, Mexico. It’s right beside a mountain and a forest, and the hotel’s staff are used to dealing with wildlife. So when the black bear arrived at the wedding, employees advised the guests not to move. So that’s why the guy in blue (Angie’s uncle) kept cool. Here’s Angie doing an interview with KTLA:

When I initially read that a bear crashed a wedding, I imagined him doing it when the priest said, “Does anyone object? Speak now or forever hold your peace!” The bear would come rushing in, let out a huge roar, and drag the screaming bride away to his mountain den. Then some wise-ass would say, “How emBEARassing!” and everyone would laugh and head to the reception for the open bar. Because free booze is free booze.
