Monica Lewinsky Showed Up To The “Impeachment: American Crime Story” Premiere

Last night Monica Lewinsky made an appearance at the Hollywood premiere of FX’s Impeachment: American Crime Story. 48-year-old Monica wore a multicolored cocktail dress, which is cute enough, but I found myself thinking, “She’d look nice in blue.” And I’m not trying to be snide, she really would!

Impeachment was originally announced in 2017, but Ryan Murphy ultimately decided not to do it and it was scrapped. But he changed his mind in 2019 after convincing Monica Lewinsky to come on board as executive producer. Last week, Monica told The Hollywood Reporter that she hired a therapist to sit with her on Zoom while she made notes on scenes that re-enacted tougher moments from her life. She said there were a lot of “emotional truths” she had to face. Monica adds that she’s not proud of the choices she made in the late nineties, but she’s proud of the show. However, she admitted she’s “nervous about being misunderstood again.”

Impeachment has been getting mixed reviews from critics and Sarah Paulson has been slammed for wearing a Betty Draper-esque fat suit for her portrayal of Linda Tripp, who died last year at age 70. But I’ll still watch. I really enjoyed the last season about Gianni Versace’s murder, and even if that shit sucks, I’ll still get to watch Carmela Soprano herself, genius Edie Falco, do her best impression of Hilary Clinton. And if it’s a camp mess… it’s a camp mess: the very definition of entertainment.

Here are some more pics from the Impeachment premiere, including Beanie Feldstein in a bright, kiss-patterned dress and Annaleigh Ashford (she plays Paula Jones) dressed as a leafy seadragon.
