Gillian Anderson Is Done With Bras
Gillian Anderson, who was just nominated for an Emmy for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in the most recent season of The Crown, did a half-hour-long Instagram Live to answer questions from her most fervent fans. Gillian shot the shit about her beloved doggies (Nelson and Stella), British snacks, being devastated by the results of the World Cup, and her go-to pandemic outfit: a black tracksuit with no bra. 52-year-old Gillian says she’s DONE with bras, and she doesn’t care if her boobies swing down to her belly button; wearing a brassiere is just “too fucking uncomfortable.” It’s official! Scully freed the titty!

I’m so lazy. And I don’t wear a bra anymore. I can’t wear a bra. I can’t- no. I can’t. I’m sorry! I don’t care if my breasts reach my belly button. I’m not wearing a bra anymore. It’s just too fucking uncomfortable.

Social media went wild for Gillian’s declaration, although some big-titted ladies said if they ditched bras they’d have “two black eyes.”
I never ever wear a bra at home and only wear one in public maybe 50% of the time (before pandemic it was like 99%). But when I’m socializing or trying to look professional I give into societal pressure and put the puppies back in their wire cage. My boobs aren’t as, um, modest as Gillian’s (although not big enough for two black eyes), and I get worried that they look floppy and sloppy. Once, in pre-pandemic times, I took a big chance and didn’t wear a bra to a girl’s night. This was ruined when a former friend shaded me hard: “Wow, they really are two different sizes, aren’t they?” Obviously I murdered her on the spot, but the judge and jury let me off with a small fine cuz my motive was “totally understandable.”
