Open Post: Hosted By The Kitty Who Got A Jacked Up Lion Cut

July 12, 2021 / Posted by:

In the last year and a half most of us have seen and/or been the victim of some pretty effed up at-home pandemic haircuts. Luckily, things are getting back to normal and we can return to paying skilled experts hundreds of dollars to cut our hair with professional salon-grade scissors (not the old rusty ones we found in our junk drawer). But even the pros can screw up! A Reddit user who goes by the name GoMooGo recently took their long-haired kitty to a groomer to get a magestic lion cut, and the above picture was the end result. To be fair, who woulda guessed that underneath all that fur were a pair of beautiful feline breasts? Definitely not GoMooGo, who wrote, “This… is not what I was expecting. I can’t stop laughing.” How rude!

Comments include (via Newsweek):

Jabronirhinestone, wrote: “This looks like you photoshopped your cat’s head onto a different cat’s body.”

Tiger_Tuliper commented: “Please get her a cute tank top immediately.”

AlfieHitchcock revealed: “I’m actually in tears from laughing so hard. Thank you for this! Poor kitty’s still trying her best to maintain her dignity from the head up.”

Here is what GoMooGo probably envisioned when they took their fur baby to the groomer:

I had a long-haired Persian back in the day, and when we first adopted her she had a lion cut. The vets gave it to her because when they rescued her from the streets her fur was all matted. People also give lions cuts to kitties to help them stay cool in the summer. However, some Reddit users on GoMooGo’s post argued that lion cuts are unnecessary and actually harmful. They say pet’s coats regulate their body temperature and actually provide them with heat relief. Another commenter countered with the fact that some vets recommend grooming, to which GoMooGo replied, “THANK YOU!! The vet & the cat parents know what’s best for the sweet cat baby.”

And yeah, GoMooGo’s kitty’s groomer definitely fucked up the length of the tail and mane (it should be higher, non?), but I’m gonna say it’s not entirely their fault. Maybe a kitty with that type of… er, chest, just doesn’t suit that particular hairstyle? And here’s my say something nice: Titty Kitty’s boots are actually super chic.
