Phylicia Rashad Got Dragged On Twitter For Celebrating Bill Cosby’s Overturned Conviction

The greasy ball of rage that’s been sitting inside my belly since I learned that Bill Cosby is walking away from his rape conviction flared up anew when I hopped on Twitter and saw that Mrs. Huxtable herself, Phylicia Rashad, had wasted no time at all celebrating (!!!!!) him being let out into the streets (and let’s face it, probably back onto TV in no time). Phylicia tweeted a picture of Bill with the caption “FINALLY!!!! A terrible wrong is being righted- a miscarriage of justice is corrected!” Michael made this same joke 6 years ago when she reportedly saidforget those women” when talking about Bill’s accusers, but I’m going to make it again — BYE PHYLICIA!

Minutes after the news broke that a Pennsylvania prosecutor had overturned Bill’s sexual assault conviction for drugging and raping Andrea Constand 2 years into a 10-year sentence, Phylicia doubled down on her 2015 assertion that Bill’s legal troubles were nothing more than an orchestrated takedown meant to tarnish his legacy and keep him off TV. Here’s her tweet, on which she has wisely disabled comments on. She made an identical post on Instagram, comments closed of course.

The only thing cute or funny about this is that is literally the best picture of him she could find. Old Bill never could keep his chocolate pudding fingers out of his eyes. He may be getting out of prison but he’s going to have fecal matter-induced pink eye for the rest of his days. Since Phylicia disabled comments, she’s gotten ratio’ed up the hoo-hah. Not only is she being name-checked all up and down Twitter, her new employer Howard University, where she will be the incoming Dean of the university’s College of Fine Arts, is getting tagged as well.

So it’s entirely possible that Phylicia has endangered her own career and reputation for him?, but there is always a silver lining. Since we know Bill’s schedule is probably clear for the next 8 years that he would have spent in prison, and Phylicia may find her support lands her with some extra free time on her hands, I expect an empty-nesters reboot of The Cosby Show to be announced any day now. By series end (thankfully it only lasts one episode before Facebook cancels it), they die alone in that brownstone because all of their kids have disowned them out of shame.
