Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Aren’t Already Married, Because They’re Waiting Until Summer
Over the weekend, Gwen Stefani was spotted at a Santa Monica park with a big, flashy diamond band on her wedding finger, which of course had everyone thinking she’d snuck off and gotten secretly married to her beau of six years, Blake Shelton. As it turns out, there was another perfectly legitimate reason for that ring: she’s just a rich lady who wears diamonds in the daytime to the park! The ring didn’t mean what some people thought it meant, according to a source that recently revealed some of Gwen and Blake’s wedding plans.
Gwen and Blake have been planning their wedding for what feels like forever, but after getting The Pope’s blessing, they’re really going to go through with it. Gwen even had a bridal shower last week, thrown by her family. Blake will become the second Mr. Stefani, while Gwen becomes the third Mrs. Shelton. But there was a snag in their wedding plans – a little pandemic called COVID-19. A source tells People that Gwen and Blake waited until it was safe to have their wedding and it’s going to happen this summer.
“Ever since they got engaged, they have both been adamant that no wedding will happen until it’s safe for family and friends to attend. Gwen expressed early on that she really wanted a summer wedding,” the source says. “She was upset earlier this year when it seemed to be no end in sight for the pandemic. She slowly started planning the wedding this spring though.”
It’s June. They’ve got two months. Unless they count September as a summer month? I can’t put that kind of energy out there, this needs to happen already.
“They are both ecstatic that it can finally happen. They are getting married this summer. Gwen’s boys will be very involved,” the insider adds. “Blake is a great extra dad and very close with the boys.”
Another source previously told People that Gwen’s sons – Kingston, 15, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 7 – are all extremely important to her and that they will play a huge role in her wedding to Blake.
People’s source’s statement can serve as airtight evidence that they haven’t gotten married yet. It’s the part about how Gwen’s sons will definitely be a part of the wedding. Gwen has a teenager and a pre-teen on her hands, and you know that if Gwen and Blake had already gotten married, at least one of them would have thrown up a video on social media about it. I’m thinking of a TikTok video of them snickering at their new step-dad, as Blake shouts “God fricking damn it, I done it again” after he accidentally spilled BBQ sauce down the front of his tuxedo for the second time at the reception.
