Dua Lipa Says She Became A Better Dancer After The Internet Bullied Her Into It

Pop star Dua Lipa hasn’t been around that long, but she’s been dragged for having the dance skills of a sedated giraffe with two left hooves. Well, all of that hate over her dancing was fuel for Dua Lipa to get better at busting out moves. I have to say Dua is now two steps above Hilary Duff. And that’s a big improvement! Dua used to be like one step above Mariah Carey.

E! News said that Dua got online to celebrate the four-year anniversary of her first-ever album the self-titled Dua Lipa. 25-year-old Dua posted an Instagram Story where she thanked her fans for supporting her all these years and also shouted out the haters who helped her grow:

Dua, who sported pajamas while she relaxed in bed, said with a laugh in the since-removed Instagram Story, “It’s been four years since my debut album has been out, and I’m so grateful for all the incredible opportunities, the amazing people I met, all the incredible lessons that I learnt, touring for like three years, getting bullied online which made me want to dance my arse off and just really get better, so thank you so much.”

“For all things good and bad, for helping me grow. I’m forever grateful and I’m excited for you guys to see what we’ve got coming up next.”

One of the performances that Dua really got shit for was one she did at a Jingle Ball in Philadelphia in 2018. It became a meme:

Some of the comments on that video include:

“I was there, it was so awkward I wanted to die.”

“I was in the crowd and I had so much secondhand embarrassment it was so hard to watch.”

“Can I talk to her production team? The outfits… the choreo… like come on y’all.”

“You can actually see the background-dancers cringe.”

But now she’s giving us performances like this from this past Grammys:

I mean, see! An improvement. I mean, she’s no Paula Abdul (WHO IS?!), but I guess that’s what happens when your record label gets you dance lessons because the Internet thinks you have no stage presence.

Today, Dua released the video for her latest single Love Again, from her album Future Nostalgia which had a re-release Moonlight Edition. These people love to “re-release” shit for more money. Here’s the video which features so much stiff line-dancing. She sure showed us!

I have so many questions after watching this video. What’s with the giant egg? Why the clowns? Clown cowboys? Huh? She’s in love with a cowboy and she’s a clown? Or she’s in love with the clown and she’s the cowboy? Confusing. Regardless, hopefully, other people can learn from Dua and grow as a dancer and performer. Let’s start with Addison Rae.
