Nicki Minaj And Kenneth Petty Have Been Accused Of Trying To Silence His Sexual Assault Victim
Based on my very limited knowledge of Nicki Minaj’s marriage to Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, which is based entirely on what I’ve learned from the news and social media, I would guess that the majority of their time was spent fighting sleep deprivation hallucinations, and posting matching couple pics to her Instagram account while figuring out how it might be possible for Kenneth to one day post them to his own. Well, if Kenneth’s sexual assault victim is telling the truth, then it would appear that Nicki and her husband have been busy little bees, allegedly doing all that they can to hush up his victim for talking about Kenneth’s reputation as a convicted creep.
For those who need a refresher, Kenneth isn’t the one who was convicted of raping a child (that would be Nicki’s brother, and he’s currently in prison). Kenneth did two bids in the big house. The first was for the attempted rape at knifepoint on a 16-year-old girl, the second was a manslaughter charge (originally a second-degree murder charge that was lowered to manslaughter after Kenneth took a plea deal). Because of the rape conviction, Kenneth was forced to register as a sex offender. His victim, who wanted to only go by Jennifer for her own protection, recently spoke to The Daily Beast about her story. That’s likely raising more than a few hairs on the backs of Nicki and Kenneth’s necks, because it sounds like their greatest wish in life is that Jennifer gets cursed by Ursula the Sea Witch and never speaks on that ever again.
Last year, Kenneth got arrested for failing to register as a sex offender after he moved to California with Nicki, and around that time, Nicki had jumped to his defense by claiming that his victim had written a letter to a judge years earlier, allegedly saying that she wanted to recant her assault allegation. The woman, Jennifer, tells The Daily Beast that, no, she never wrote any such letter, and no, she doesn’t want to make this situation vanish into thin air. Also, she’s tired of being “harassed” into silence by people allegedly connected to Nicki and Kenneth. via Complex:
[Jennifer] said in the report that both she and Petty were 16 at the time of the assault. She also refuted Minaj’s claims of having sent a letter to a judge in an effort to recant her statement, further alleging that “associates” of both Minaj and Petty have harassed her as part of a push for her to do exactly that. In at least one instance, for example, it’s alleged that someone offered Jennifer hundreds of thousands of dollars on behalf of the couple.
Jennifer claims she’s moved multiple times to escape the harassment, and that she feared for her safety so much that she eventually got the authorities involved. More bad news for Nicki and Kenneth: Jennifer claims that U.S. Marshals confirmed to her that an investigation was allegedly opened up shortly after Kenneth’s arrest in 2020. Jennifer also accuses Nicki and Kenneth of plotting some kind of hush money-for-NDA switcheroo scheme on her:
One specific instance of alleged harassment mentioned in the Daily Beast report involves Barry, a man who Jennifer recalled had been friends with her brother when they were in school. According to Jennifer, Barry reached out to her a few days after Petty’s 2020 arrest. Eventually, per Jennifer, Barry said Nicki Minaj herself wanted to have a conversation with her. The conversation is said to have seen Minaj offering help with “anything you need,” including an invitation to be flown out to California.
Barry had also allegedly urged Jennifer to recant her rape allegation, later – according to the report – showing up outside her house with a $20,000 cash offer to put her signature on a letter in which the allegations would be recanted.
Jennifer claims that during that phone call, she stressed to Nicki that the assault really did happen, and that was the last time they talked. Shortly after, Jennifer claims she was contacted by her brother, who informed her that their cousin in North Carolina had allegedly been contacted by a man from New York, who presented an offer of $500,000 in exchange for a meeting with Kenneth’s attorney.
It gets a bit shadier from there. Jennifer claims that she believes this mysterious Barry was trying to get Jennifer to cooperate, so that Nicki Minaj might make an appearance at Barry’s daughter’s birthday party. Jennifer’s brother and cousin might have gotten involved, because she believes they were hoping to get Nicki to appear at a club, for which they could make a significant amount of money from. No wonder Jennifer didn’t want to give her last name. I don’t blame her, I also wouldn’t want to be associated with my family if they were trying to exploit my violent sexual assault for money.
And Nicki and Kenneth’s alleged harassment campaign has reportedly gotten to Jennifer’s daughter. Jennifer claims that her daughter was approached and threatened at a club one night. The Daily Mail says that Jennifer has previously gone on social media asking her not-named harassers to tell their “people” to leave her and her family “the fuck alone.”
Nicki and Kenneth were reached for comment by The Daily Beast, Complex, and The Daily Mail, and they had no response on the matter for anyone. To be fair, they were caught at a bad time. I mean, hello – they’re allegedly very busy trying to buy a woman’s silence here! And if that’s not the case of why they didn’t return journalist’s phone calls, then maybe it’s because Nicki is busy trying to get Cardi B on the phone, begging her to help create a diversion from this story by throwing another shoe her way.
