Phyllis Pena, the mom who tackled a suspected peeping tom!
In that still above, it may look like Phyllis Pena is in the middle of busting out a kick ball change, but she’s actually in the middle of busting a perv who was allegedly peeking in her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom window. The Super Bowl may have already happened, but Phyllis Pena won the Super Bowl by perfectly tackling a trick!
NBC 2 Houston says that at around 7:00 in the morning on January 31, Phyllis Pena was returning to her Lake Jackson, TX home after going to the store when she noticed someone peeping into her daughter’s bedroom window. Phyllis’ daughter wasn’t in her room at the time. The peeping tom ran off and Phyllis called the cops.
The police arrived at Phyllis’ house and spotted the alleged creep nearby. He took off again and made the genius move of running toward Phyllis’ house. She was outside and didn’t want him to get away, so she turned her Mama Bear switch all the way up to 10 and took the creeper down in front of the cops.
The police arrested the suspected peeping tom, 19-year-old Zane Hawkins, and he was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and resisting arrest. Phyllis’ kids know of Zane but don’t know him personally, but Zane obviously knows who Phyllis is now and definitely knows she’s not the one to screw with.
Phyllis told NBC 2 that the cops gave her a fist bump for a job well done:
“The cop fist-bumped me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker,’” Pena said.
“My kids are my life and just making sure I protect them,” Pena said.

I love a good CITIZEN’S ARREST but really love one with an action movie star twist. Dear Disney, replace Gina Garano with Phyllis Pena! We already know that Phyllis Pena is as strong as, well, as strong as a mother whose child has been messed with, but she should do a couple more bicep curls anyway to prepare for when the Vince Lombardi trophy is snatched away from Tom Brady and rightfully given to Phyllis Pena!
