Tom Brady’s Ex Bridget Moynahan Congratulated Him On His 7th Super Bowl Win

Save for a couple of questionably inflated balls, Tom Brady doesn’t really have a reputation of playing dirty on the field. But off the field, Tom Brady famously played it a little dirty in his personal life, when he started dating one woman (Gisele Bundchen) while his ex (Bridget Moynahan) was pregnant with his first kid. It was messier than Tom’s partner in passing, Rob Gronkowski, the second he enters international waters. But time has healed some of that messiness, because Bridget showed she is fully able to play nice, by publicly congratulating her ex on his latest Super Bowl victory.

Tom’s team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, won the 55th Super Bowl in Florida last night. It was Tom’s 7th Super Bowl win as a quarterback, the first being all the way back in 2001. Tom Brady continues to hold the record for the NFL quarterback with the most Super Bowl wins (the next most Super Bowliest quarterback is Joe Montana, with 4). That’s where Bridget Moynahan comes in. Bridget is a Massachusetts person through and through, which means she’s got that New England Patriots fan love running through her veins. But she decided to hop on Instagram and give a shout out to the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who also happens to be the father of her 13-year-old son Jack.

Tom also got a social media shout-out from his wife, Gisele, although hers was limited to just a casual Instagram Story mention since she was actually there cheering him on from their private stadium box. And because she was there in person in a packed stadium in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m sure he’ll forgive her for Instagramming a picture of Gronk.

Gisele was joined by Tom’s three kids, the aforementioned Jack, as well as Benjamin, and Vivian.

Obviously, Bridget’s approach to the situation likely comes from years of working on a good relationship with her son’s father. And when two people put the past behind them for the sake of their kid, everyone wins. The only real loser here is people who love drama. Because if Bridget wanted to keep her messiness with Tom going on forever, she wouldn’t have given him some positive reinforcement on Instagram. She would have hopped on Twitter and slipped into the replies of a tweet about Tom’s skills on the field. “Yeah, he’s good at running. Running away. But that’s all I’m going to say about that (shrugging shoulders emoji).”

But someone who was more than happy to talk shit about Tom yesterday was Tyrann Mathieu, a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs. Right before breaking for halftime last night, Tom Brady could be seen getting into it with Tyrann on the field.

It’s not known what they said to each other, but according to Tyrann, you don’t want to know. According to Yahoo! Sports, Tyrann tweeted and later deleted the following accusation at Tom Brady:

“He called me something I won’t repeat but yeah I’ll let all the media throw me under the bus as if I did something or said something to him.”

Tyrann added that he’s never shown Tom anything but grace and respect in press conferences. He also accused Tom of “chasing” him around the field, and not getting called out by referees. In contrast, Tyrann was given a 15-yard penalty in last night’s game for pointing a finger at Tom Brady. After the game was over, Tyrann downplayed his interactions with Tom, telling reporters that “It’s football,” and that “Guys are going to go back and forth.” Sure, but what did Tom Brady call Tyrann Mathieu? Tom Brady let it known previously that he was on Team Trump. So maybe Tom called Tyrann a left-leaning Biden voter or something. Or maybe Tom hissed, “You KNOW I’m fucking NOT!” after Tyrann engaged in some trash-talk by calling him a refined sugar-eating gluten-gobbling strawberry sucker.
