Gina Carano Was Fired From “The Mandalorian” After A Series Of “Abhorrent” Social Media Posts
#FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter all day yesterday after 38-year-old MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano tweeted a comparison to the Holocaust and the current political climate. This is not the first, second, or third time that Gina has pissed people off with her thoughts, but she really did it this time and The Hollywood Reporter says that Gina Carano got fired from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, and also dropped from her talent agency.
In the past, Gina tweeted conspiracy theories about election fraud, showed herself as an anti-mask supporter and mocked the trans community (which she denies). Those tweets caused many to ask Disney to fire Gina in November. But the social media post that did her in was Gina comparing being a Republican in the world today to being a Jewish person during the Holocaust:

So after that nonsense, Gina got the boot. Her agency, UTA, dropped her, and Lucasfilm gave a statement on her status which was:
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
A source told THR that Lucasfilm had been wanting to drop Gina for a while now:
“They have been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the final straw.”
Gina really fucked herself and her pocketbook, because Lucasfilm had planned to announce in December that Gina’s Star Wars character, Cara Dune, would be the star of her own Disney+ show. But they dropped those plans due to her tweets in November:
Gina Carano's #TheMandalorian character Cara Dune almost had her own Star Wars series – it was planned to be announced at Disney's Investor Day presentation in December, but the announcement was scrapped due to her controversial tweets the previous month https://t.co/o3kkMrOPMh pic.twitter.com/udNxjYlOPs

Star War fans are already offering up replacement options for Gina’s character including Lucy Lawless. But I say that since Baby Yoda is obviously the biggest star of The Mandalorian, just slap a brown wig on his head and let him play Cara Dune too. And well, it could be worse for Gina. I mean, thanks to her tweets, she’s guaranteed a role in the HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED sequel to Courting Mom & Dad starring Scott Baio and Kristy Swanson.
