Meghan McCain Might Have Unintentionally Counted Herself As A Trump Supporter
Even after Donald Trump was officially evicted from the White House, we’re still talking about Donald Trump, and as anyone with a conspiracy-loving Facebook-dependent aunt knows, there are still people out there who are firmly on Team Trump. To the surprise of many, Meghan McCain might have let it slip that she’s one of them. Or at the very least, she didn’t check her words before they left her mouth.
During yesterday’s episode of The View, the topic of Trump’s second impeachment was brought up. Anyone who has watched The View in the past four years knows that Meghan is a Republican, but not THAT kind of Republican. Essentially, she’s said that she’s not a Trump supporter. Meghan even dragged Trump while delivering the eulogy at the funeral of her father, John McCain. But then yesterday, it kind of sounded like she was defending those who defend Trump.
While looking like the closest DNA match to Caboodles, Meghan brought up that there is currently a very clear line of Republicans who want to move forward with the Trump impeachment proceedings vs. those who do not. Then she took a swing at President Joe Biden’s comments about unifying the country, while also dragging Katie Couric. Katie recently said on Real Time with Bill Maher that she wonders how to deprogram those who are in the Cult of Trump. Meghan took it very personally that Katie would lump her into that group, even though Katie really didn’t. But bless Meghan, she’s got to be mad about something, which brings us to her maybe outing herself as a Trumper. via The Daily Beast:
“We’re hearing a lot of language from people like Katie Couric that Republicans like me need to be, quote, ‘deprogrammed,’ that we’re brainwashed, that there are people who are irredeemable people, and we don’t need to have anything to do with them.”
McCain went on to say it was “horribly dangerous” for the country and that it was on Biden and Democrats to pick up Republicans who feel “disenfranchised.”
“If President Biden and Democrats want to have a big party and include some of these people, great, and if we’re all just deplorable and need to be reprogrammed as Katie Couric said, then honestly they can go to hell because I don’t need to be deprogrammed!”
The Daily Beast hypothesizes that Meghan might have unintentionally revealed she’s on friendly texting terms with such political luminaries as the My Pillow guy. She might have also just not read Katie Couric’s quote. Meghan McCain? Unprepared for work? There’s never has there been such a far-fetched idea! And I know Meghan was deeply triggered by Katie Couric, but that might actually be reason enough to get some deprogramming done. Just a little! Katie is harmless, so getting mad at Katie should be enough to consider dialing it down from 10 to a 9.
