Chrissy Teigen Claps Back At Those Shaming Her For Being At The Inauguration

Another day, another “clapback from professional clapbacker Chrissy Teigen. Chrissy’s husband, John Legend, was asked to perform for President Joe Biden‘s virtual inaugural celebration this evening so naturally, she tagged along because her husband is performing, it’d be good for Instagram, and she also lives for a clapback which she did when she got shit for traveling all over the place during a pandemic.

Chrissy has been dragging Trump throughout his presidency and didn’t stop today. Prior to Trump and Melania the Mannequin’s exit, Chrissy treated her Instagram followers to a photo in front of the Washington monument to alert everyone she was in town and to tell everyone how she really feels:

Of course, because of the heightened tensions surrounding Biden’s presidency, security in Washington has been tighter than Melania’s clenched jaw when Trump tries to hold her hand, some residents of the city were none too pleased with having such a great armed guard presence within their borders. According to The Independent as Chrissy was preparing for her trip by posting a cute photo of her son Miles, one of her followers was quick to remind her that her much-anticipated getaway was conversely a hellish lockdown for people who actually live in D.C.

“Hey Chrissy DC residents aren’t very ‘happy’ right now and can’t even ‘happy pack’ their cars to drive to the grocery store because of the military state the city is in but yeah LOL come on down especially in a pandemic. How happy!!!”

Another hit at Chrissy for joining John on the trip to DC:

One person questioned why it was necessary for Teigen to travel across state lines (the couple lives in California) in order to watch her husband perform. “Literally no one will be there to see him perform, because no one is allowed to,” the Twitter user wrote.

“Why couldn’t he do a virtual performance and also why does his whole family have to go when literally no one can move about the city? Like…yeah, exactly. She should turn the TV on…”

Even after Chrissy informed the angry follower she was clearly doing what she normally does by updating everyone about what’s going on with her family, others soon followed suit by chastising her.

And Chrissy ended with this:

Chrissy’s right, some people’s “joy” is dragging her. But if they really want to feel joy, they should focus on the fact that the name looking back at them when they Google “Who is the current President of the United States?” is not Trump’s.
