Mary-Kate Olsen And Olivier Sarkozy Reached A Divorce Settlement

Spring 2020. Eons ago. Mary-Kate Olsen split from her husband Olivier Sarkozy after five years. Despite their iron-clad prenup (gotta protect all that Michelle Tanner cash), things got off to a rocky start when cancelled the lease on their New York apartment, and our little Olsen was forced out onto the streets (JK, MK relocated to the Hamptons). Word on the street was that the couple allegedly clashed over issues like having kids, partying, and the fact that Olivier invited his ex-wife to live with them during the pandemic. And even though their split sounded less than acrimonious, and it looks like MK’s already moved the fuck on, lawyers say 34-year-old Mary-Kate and 51-year-old Olivier have already reached a settlement.

This morning all parties gathered for a Manhattan Supreme Court video hearing. Mary-Kate kept it conservative in a black turtleneck, and Olivier pulled a “my mom” and settled on a less-than-flattering low angle. He also covered his mouth, likely out of fear that coronavirus germs can be transmitted through Zoom. Or he was hiding a cigarette:

This is what went down:

“As of this morning, we reached a final agreement,” Sarkozy’s lawyer Michael Mosberg told a judge during a Manhattan Supreme Court video hearing. Mosberg said the parties would have a finalized and signed copy of the agreement to the judge by next week.

Justice Lori Sattler asked Olsen’s lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, if she agreed. “Yes, your honor, that is correct, everything is resolved,” Chemtob said. “We’ve been working very hard. We do have a settlement.”

Michael Mosberg went on to promise that the divorce would be finalized with a signed agreement to the judge next week. But the judge, Justice Lori Sattler, was skeptical (she’s seen it all, people!), saying:

“Until I actually see the proof, I’m going to hold your feet to the fire a little bit,” the jurist said. “I do trust and believe that this is happening, however, I’m going to keep control of the case to make sure this gets done and get them divorced.”

Ooo, the law! If you’d like to put faces to their names, here’s the entire virtual courtroom:

Wait! The woman on the bottom right is allegedly MK’s lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, but my Lasik-ed eyes are legally obligated to call bullshit – that’s Barbra Streisand! Wow. Acting, singing, directing, and now litigating?! What can’t Babs do? That must be why MK cracked a tiny smile in that Zoom screenshot. Yes, it’s a relief that her divorce is almost finalized, but to get to witness Barbra fucking Streisand perform in a court of law? That’s the real victory.
