Mary-Kate Olsen Has Found A Temporary Place To Live In The Hamptons

It’s one thing to find out that Mary-Kate Olsen’s five-year marriage to Olivier Sarkozy is officially fin. But to also learn that poor Mary-Kate was also at risk for being tossed out onto the streets of New York with nothing but the very expensive clothes on her back and whatever furniture she was able to slide into the freight elevator? Tragique.

Mary-Kate made an emergency request to have her divorce papers filed ASAP, because Olivier had reportedly given her only a few days to vacate their apartment. A judge said no, it wasn’t an emergency. But don’t worry, she managed to scrape together a few pennies and rent a very expensive home in the Hamptons for the summer.

Page Six says that Mary-Kate wasn’t homeless for very long. I mean, she wasn’t homeless to begin with, considering she owns multiple properties. Olivier had reportedly ended the lease on the Gramercy apartment he and Mary-Kate shared in Manhattan. They also reportedly have an apartment on East 49th Street, and it was reported that they shared a Bridgehampton home. When Mary-Kate filed an emergency petition, she requested that she be given continual use of the other properties, as well as being given some more time to move her things out of their primary residence.

Mary-Kate Olsen has temporarily landed on her feet despite being forced to move out at the last minute. She dropped $325,000 to rent a home this summer in the Hamptons. That might answer the question: Will Mary-Kate still have access to the home in Bridgehampton? I’m thinking not.

We don’t know much else about Mary-Kate’s rental plans, or when she plans on moving in. It was rumored that she’s currently staying somewhere outside of the city with Ashley Olsen and friends. The only thing Page Six could really tell us about Mary-Kate’s summer rental is that the home reportedly has a private dock. That sounds perfect for Mary-Kate. Imagine how much fun she’ll have slipping into the water unnoticed, swimming up to frightened tourists, convincing them they are about to be pulled under by a sea witch. It’s just what she needs to take her mind off things.
