Giggy Vanderpump Has Died
Listen, shitting on 2020 has been done to death. We get it, it’s been a rough one. But the blows just keep coming! Over the weekend, it was the tragic news that Gigolo “Giggy” Vanderpump, the real star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, passed away. He was approximately ten years old. My religion is Real Housewives, so this one hit hard. Giggy’s owner, Lisa Vanderpump announced the little Pomeranian’s death on her Instagram, and shared that she and husband Ken Todd were “devastated”.
Here’s Lisa’s post, in which she credits Giggy with inspiring her to create the Vanderpump Dog Foundation:
She also posted this sultry black and white photo of herself and “sexy” Giggy (her words, constantly) alongside a poem:
Lisa Vanderpump is, arguably, an animal hoarder. She owns several dogs, two miniature ponies, seven swans, and a variety of other animals. But her favorite little fur baby was Giggy. She carried him everywhere (he hated walking). Perhaps it was because he suffered from doggy alopecia. Giggy’s lack of body fur meant he was always freezing, so Lisa helped warm him up by dressing him in fancy little outfits. She probably spent more on that dog’s fashion in one year than I have on clothes my entire life.
According to Andy Cohen’s Sirius talk show this morning, Giggy had been sick for a very long time. A couple of years ago he had to be private jetted home from Aspen to Beverly Hills with an oxygen tank after getting sick from the altitude. In 2018 he spent a lot of time hospitalized in a little doggy incubator on a heart monitor. At the time, Lisa said (via People):
“We actually have a pacemaker waiting for him — a tiny, tiny little pacemaker, if he does need it.” Vanderpump added, “He’s still a young little Gigolo, but we’ve just got to be careful with his little heart. We worship him. I mean, Ken’s even more obsessed than I am.”
Back in 2017, Lisa lost two Pomeranians: Pikachu and Pink Dog. She mourned poor Pink Dog on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and revealed Ken Todd had actually tried to resuscitate the dying doggie using “the kiss of life”. So you can bet your impoverished ass it is a very dark day in Villa Rosa.
Little Giggy was a Bravo icon. Lisa even made sure that his picture was erected in the Bravo Clubhouse (where Andy shoots Watch What Happens Live). RIP, you teeny bald-patched fur baby. Let’s end by remembering the good times; Giggy’s charity work, entertainment career, and high-maintenance Beverly Hills lifestyle:
