Dr. Oz Calls Breakfast An “Advertising Ploy”

TMZ says that Dr. Oz now wants to cancel breakfast. Yes, breakfast is over with. He calls it a “ploy” and says we don’t need it. Honey, I’ve noticed how fed-Kristian versus hangry-Kristian acts in the morning, and I know there’s a difference–medical or not.

While people have called breakfast: “the most important meal of the day”, it seems Dr. Oz is not one of them. Yes, the guy who lied to you about weight-loss products is here to claim that breakfast is a lie. He calls it an “advertising ploy” which was ingrained into humanity because our habits are shaped by ads and capitalism. Wow, sounds awful! Who would do something like that?

Dr. Oz says that you should wait until you’re actually hungry after you wake up to eat. My first question is, are there people who don’t wake up hungry? My second question is, what is that like? But apparently Oz says us hungries are the scientific weirdos–according to him people who claim they’re hungry in the morning are mistaken, we’re just having “withdrawals”. Withdrawals from… food? …You mean “hunger”? Isn’t that… the definition? He says:

“Cancel breakfast, have brunch every day of the week!”

Oh yes, cancel the advertising ploy known as breakfast, says the man who’s schilling out breakfast recipes all over his site:

Honestly, screw Dr. Oz. We need to be adding meals to the daily routine, not taking away. It needs to go: Breakfast, Second-breakfast, Mandatory brunch for all families–because that part I believe is medicinal–then Lunch, Half-dinner, Dinner, Late-dinner, 1:45 AM Late-night snack. And then we start again. But… I guess in my scenario then we could get rid of breakfast and just fast until Second-breakfast–for health reasons. And we don’t want to piss off Jillian Michaels! You know what, Dr. Oz is right: that sounds like a better plan. Meanwhile stay tuned for Dr. Oz brand brunch cereal because that’s definitely not an advertising ploy.
