Open Post: Hosted By Arnold Schwarzenegger Pumping Iron With Chris Pratt
You have to wonder if Chris Pratt isn’t more excited about being related to Arnold Schwarzenegger than he is about being married to Arnold’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger. And that when Katherine’s mom Maria Shriver set the two of them up she didn’t play up the fact that not only is Katherine a wonderful Christian woman, her dad would totally sign a headshot for him! And if he treats her right and promises to keep his MAGA hat under wraps, Arnold might just share his Rolodex of political connections with him too. We know Chris wasn’t interested in Katherine for her cooking skills! Dude did it so he would pump iron with The Terminator. Arnold all but confirmed this while discussing his relationship to his son-in-law on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Arnold says he and Chris bonded over reps and sweat.
Arnold reported that he likes Chris, but they weren’t filing any sort of lie-detector bit, so we don’t know if it’s true or not. We’ll just have to take his word for it. Arnold said that one of the first things they did together was hit the gym. (via USA Today):
How did Pratt first win over the “Terminator” star? In the gym, of course.
“Of course the first thing when we met, he said, ‘Can we have a workout together? I need to have the inside scoop to the pumping iron,’ ” Schwarzenegger recalled.
“Pumping iron was the decision-making factor, absolutely,” he joked after Kimmel asked how he decided Pratt could be a part of the Schwarzenegger clan. “We were in the gym, that was it … He’s a strong guy, there’s no two ways about it. I’m very proud of him. When I watched him make his moves in the gym, the incline press specifically did it. That’s why I wanted him to become my son-in-law.”
Here’s Arnold talking about Chris’ skills on the incline press and how he asked for Katherine’s hand in marriage in a “very traditional way,” which I’m going to have to assume involved some sort of cow dowry (begins 3:52).
Everybody knows there are only two ways into Arnold’s heart; through his sweat glands, or through his penis. Of course Chris chose the former, he really had no choice in the matter. Maria made sure his penis “retired” after he made a secret baby with his housekeeper.
