Ciara Hit The “Red Table Talk” To Say Words About Her Ex Future

Jada Pinkett Smith is continuing her trend of getting people to spill their secrets to her while sitting around her mystical red table. People reports that this time she ensorcelled Ciara who sat down with Jada, daughter Willow Smith, and mother Adrienne Banfield Norris to talk about her life. Ciara decided to talk about her ex, rapper Future, while gossiping with the Smith girls–specifically how terrible the relationship with him was and how she “unexpectedly” became a single mother. Drag him, Ciara!

33-year-old Ciara broke up with 35-year-old Future in 2014 literally three months after they had a baby son, also named Future. Ciara says it was a long time coming but she stuck it out for so long for a bunch of reasons including her own healthy nuclear family upbringing and also the Internet trolls:

“I grew up with my mom and dad being together. The idea of it being mommy and daddy that made baby. Also, you’re living your life in front of the world, so that adds a whole ‘nother layer. I feel like I’m failing right now, they gon’ roast me.”

She said becoming a single mother triggered her and she would cry. She would cry in the shower, cry in the bedroom–it was a series of tears for Ciara. But ultimately, Ciara knew it was the right decision because her biggest fear is wasting her time and her life:

“You realize that time does not stop. And it would be the worst scenario to stay in a situation that, its just not healthy, it’s not going to get any better. I realized I had to start making different decisions. Period.”

Ciara leaned on her new baby and taking care of him became her way through the break up:

“When I was thinking about my son, I know what I want to feel. I know the kind of love that I want for us… What I did was–[son] Future was like my teddy bear. So I was like, we gon’ go. We ’bout to do this thing together. So his first trip was to Ibiza… I’m going to commit. I’m going to commit to pull through.”

I mean… must be nice. Most single mothers aren’t thinking, “Let’s get my groove back in Ibiza!” More like, “I hope that piece of shit mailed his child support this time.”

Ciara said that she had to walk out on Future because he just couldn’t give her the right kind of love. And here I thought it was because he was really bad with money:

“I had to take a couple of times to figure it out, but my dad’s love is what saved me in all my situations, because it would get to a point where I was like, my dad wouldn’t do this to my mom. This can’t be love. I’ve always had the same goal of wanting to be loved a certain way, but I was just walking in the wrong direction.”

Ciara also dropped the truth bomb that, unlike other people, she hates being sad:

“I don’t like crying all the time. I don’t like being sad, so I’m like how to I get out of this. Cause I like being happy.”

Ciara, I think the only people who enjoy being sad are attention-starved sociopaths and My Chemical Romance stans.

Ciara also twists the knife in Future by bringing up her insanely wealthy new NFL husband Russell Wilson. Now she, baby Future and his new sister Sienna Princess are a happy family. She said that when she met Russell:

“It was different. I never had that feeling in my life. It was just like, it was calm … It’s a different level of love.”

Ciara might be getting payback, because Future has slapped at her enough times.

Feel free to watch Ciara talk with Jada and co about parenting and love and whatever here. But spoiler warning: despite Jada dropping the tea on her own porn addiction we never get her to dig into Ciara about how prayers interact with her sexual activity. Maybe next time.
