We’re only a little over two weeks away from the clusterfuck that will be the 91st Academy Awards and I can honestly say this is the first time in years that the buildup to the ceremony has almost generated more buzz than all of the nominees. After debating whether or not all of the songs will be performed to shave some time off of the broadcast, it was announced that all five nominated tunes from the Best Original Song category will be performed. The Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper duet “Shallow” from A Star is Born is definitely one of the biggest songs in the category and the two of them are going to perform it during the show. However, according to Extra, B. Coop is absolutely terrified.
The Academy made the official announcement on Friday when they tweeted out Bradley and Gaga’s upcoming performance at the Oscars on February 24.
Cooper. Gaga. "Shallow." #Oscars

At first I when I saw this tweet my eyes read Cooper. Gaga. “SWALLOW”. which made me a bit excited for a few moments before I rubbed my eyes and read it the correct way. I’m sure this is exciting news for all of Gaga’s Little Monsters, however this won’t be their first time performing the song together. A few weeks ago during her Las Vegas residency Gaga plucked Bradley from the audience and brought him onstage for a performance that looked like someone’s dad singing with their kid after years of estrangement. Bradley is still filled with gigantic butterflies in preparation for The Oscars.
“Yes! It’s terrifying, absolutely. I was like, ‘Why? I must have some sort of death wish.’”
I’m kind of excited to see their performance now because before this announcement I was going to wait until the next day and watch them all at once on YouTube. You know that’s what you were thinking about doing as well so don’t judge me. However, now that Bradley will be performing with Gaga this gives me a new reason to watch. Because I’m waiting for that moment when he tries to hit a note he knows he can’t and his voice cracks like Fergie’s did while singing her ultra sexy Star Spangled Banner performance during the All Star Game. And when that happens Gaga will probably step away from the piano and walk offstage in embarrassment saying “I don’t know him.”
