Nicki Minaj Doesn’t Hate Kylie Jenner (But She Still Doesn’t Like Travis Scott)
When Nicki Minaj’s latest album Queen didn’t reach the number one spot on the Billboard chart, she threw a massive hissy fit targeted at the person who dared rank higher than her, Travis Scott. She also came for Travis’ girlfriend and baby’s mother, Kylie Jenner. Since the Kardashian-Jenners live in a delusional world of delusion where even the worst attention is good attention, I’m sure Kylie sent a basket of makeup over to Nicki’s house with a Thank You note and an invitation to drag her anytime. But Nicki recently revealed on her Beats 1 show Queen Radio, that she doesn’t hate Kylie.
Nicki’s main problem with Travis Scott was that she accused him of gaming the system to increase sales for his album Astroworld, like implying that if his fans buy “season pass” bundles they might get to meet Kylie and daughter Stormi at some shows. On the night of the MTV VMAs, Kylie was caught on video in what appeared to be an attempt at avoiding Nicki on the red carpet.
The Fader says Nicki was asked about their near-miss on the red carpet during the most recent episode of Queen Radio. It might look awkward as hell, but Nicki says it was anything but. And she’s officially cutting Kylie out of her album drama narrative.
“I fucking love Kylie and that’s not going to change. This is not real life, this is entertainment. I love Kylie and so do my fans. Kim was on my first episode of Queen Radio – fucking love her. we’re not going to make something that it’s not. We’re not going to start any dumbass cat fights for your entertainment. This is strictly music, between musicians. She supported her man like she should. Me and my fans are not feeding into this.”
I guess butts like a spare tire gotta stick together.
That’s not to say Nicki is done fighting this fight. She’s still suggesting that something slimy is up on Travis’ end. She’s also apparently not done handing out her “Cock Sucka of the Day” awards. Two days ago, Nicki called Billboard the “cock sucka” of the day for suggesting she had to cancel part of her tour (possibly due to low ticket sales). The most recent “cock sucka” in Nicki’s world is Travis Scott’s manager, Irving Azoff. Nicki accuses Irving of launching a smear campaign against her and her tour by calling up journalists and spreading untrue rumors. Nicki doesn’t specify what role, if any, Travis played in Irving’s alleged diabolical scheme. A rep for Irving wasn’t available to comment. If Nicki wants to avoid being labeled as homophobic, she may want to stay away from using “cock sucka” as an insult. Just an idea.
Now that Nicki has officially pledged her allegiance to Kylie, the rest of the Kardashian-Jenners are no doubt a little bummed that this mess couldn’t have been dragged out a little longer. However, not all is lost! That gift basket I pictured above has definitely just been replaced by a letter from Kris Jenner, asking Nicki for future writing tips. “If and when Kylie and Travis break up, can we count on your help when we inevitably paint him as the bad guy?”
