Amber Heard Offers J.K. Rowling Some Side-Eye For Her Comments About Casting Johnny Depp
J.K. Rowling came under fire for her involvement in casting Johnny Depp in the next installment of the Harry Potter cash printing machine Fantastic Beasts. Last night Michael posted about her inevitable response. In it she vaguely alludes to the public statement that was jointly released by Johnny and ex-wife Amber Heard after their split.
Here’s what J.K. had to say, in part (via Pajiba where you can read the full statement).
For me personally, the inability to speak openly to fans about this issue has been difficult, frustrating and at times painful. However, the agreements that have been put in place to protect the privacy of two people, both of whom have expressed a desire to get on with their lives, must be respected. Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.
Well, Amber got wind of the statement and let out a lusty “oh, hells to the no” while pulling out her earring, or whatever it is that ladies like Amber do when they confront an advisory. Amber didn’t appreciate J.K. picking apart their statement to justify her actions and posted about it on Instagram (I guess that’s what ladies like Amber do. Mystery solved!).
In case you’re IG font blind like me she’s written:
For the record, this was our FULL joint statement. To pick and choose certain lines and quote them out of context, is just not right. Women, continue to stand up and stay strong. Love, Amber
I guess she’s mad that J.K. didn’t acknowledge the part of the statement that said Amber was not lying about what happened and instead chose to focus on the part about moving on.
So will J.K. come back at Amber with a throaty “bitch, please” or whatever it is that ladies like J.K. say when presented with an uncomfortable argument and double down by pointing out that Amber also said in the statement that she wanted the best for Johnny in the future, or whatever it is that ladies like J.K. do to protect their nut? I’m sure we’ll find out on the next episode of As The Worm Turns.
