Tiffany Haddish’s $4,000 Alexander McQueen dress!

Last night, Tiffany Haddish became the first black lady stand-up comedian to host Saturday Night Live, which should’ve made Lorne Michaels slap himself thrice for never booking Whoopi Goldberg or Mo’Nique as a host. Since Tiffany does stand-up, her opening monologue was her doing stand-up while working a $4,000 Alexander McQueen gown and an exquisite Coming To America wig. Tiffany earned one side-eye from me during her opener when she mentioned Donald Trump’s flattened guinea pig hair and praised his lace front for staying tight and down even as a gust of rising hot air blasts out of his mouth. But Tiffany got a slow clap from me for her bit on her $4,000 Alexander McQueen dress.

Tiffany started her ode to her McQueen dress by talking about how Kevin Hart made fun of her for wearing the same outfit in different Instagram pictures. Tiffany wore that $4,000 dress to the L.A. premiere of Girls Trip back in July, and when she told her people that she wanted to wear it during her SNL opening monologue, they told her that there’s a law in the celebrity world stating that you cannot wear the same shit twice. It’s a law punishable by DEATH! But Tiffany didn’t care. If “giving a fuck” was in this season, Tiffany would not be on trend, because she has no fucks to give said. She wore that dress twice last night (during her monologue and Weekend Update), and joked that she’s taking it to the grave with her.

Two things: 1. I can’t believe that Tiffany paid $4,000 for a look she could’ve achieved for much less by pairing a clearance rack dress from David’s Bridal and a $15 necklace from Icing. 2. Tiffany has been to many events since the Girls Trip premiere in July, and I haven’t seen her wear that McQueen dress again. But now that she’s said on national television that she’s going to wear the seams out of it, she better wear it everywhere. Although, she might stop wearing it when fans ran up to her and ask her to take a picture of them with her world-famous dress.
