Helen Mirren And Jane Fonda Sole The Show At Paris Fashion Week

In the immortal words of RuPaul, “two queens stand before me”.

Yesterday at Paris Fashion Week, Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda both proved that once a bad bitch, always a bad bitch by absolutely slaying it on the runway for L’Oreal Paris. Thankfully neither of these legends had to lip sync for their lives but they surely gave the assembled crowd life with their ferocity and grace.

Dame Helen strutted in a Mary Poppins meets A Clockwork Orange lewk complete with a jaunty cane with which to call out her enemies. Helen’s walk is the fierce, confident walk of a woman who has a 20 year old boy toy tied up and instructed to be at the ready at all times in her bed at home. She’s not in a hurry but she’s also not fucking around here all day with you fools when she’s got a Little Caesar’s Hot and Ready waiting at home.

Jane “bitch, please” Fonda sashayed in a skintight Wilma Flintstone meets Tony the Tiger column dress. Unlike Helen’s easy style, Jane’s look is decadent and luxurious in a way you impoverished peons could never. Jane’s look says “I may not be able to walk more than 20 feet without assistance and there’s no reason in the world I should have to”. Hand over heart, she acquiesces to the applause of her adoring fans knowing she just has to make it to the end of the runway before being carried off in a golden litter held aloft by four glistening beef cakes.

All hail The Queens!
