Val Kilmer Is Ready For That “Top Gun” Sequel

Two weeks ago, Tom Cruise confirmed that a sequel to the 1986 bro flick Top Gun was definitely happening and said that filming was probably going to start next year. Val Kilmer has let it be known he’s totally available to slip into his sexy flight jammies. I’m assuming that’s what those bulge-enhancing fighter pilot onesies are called.

Val Instagrammed a Tinder-looking picture of himself in an Iceman t-shirt and explained to the judges why he should be named America’s Next Top Gun Co-Star:

“Friends said it’s official – #TOPGUN2 was announced today. I’m ready Tom – still got my top gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it!”

Last night he tweeted a picture of himself in the same shirt while stating the obvious.

Tom Cruise hasn’t responded to Val yet, but at the NYC premiere on The Mummy on Monday night, he talked a little bit about TG2 with Entertainment Tonight.

“There’s going to be jets. Fast jets. There’s going to be an aircraft carrier. Maybe two. And a wide range of jets. And music. It’s gonna have music. It’s gonna have a soundtrack. There’s going to be actors in it. Motorcycle. Definitely a motorcycle. Maybe a volleyball scene.”

There damn well better be a volleyball scene. What other reason is there for watching Top Gun when it comes on cable on a Saturday afternoon? And Val Kilmer better be a part of it. Val is a little older, he battled cancer and may be a little more tired, so he might want to prove to Tom he really does still have it by Instagramming a video of him twirling a ball on his finger without a shirt on.

Here’s Tom Cruise at the premiere of The Mummy in NYC yesterday.
