Open Post: Hosted By Martha Stewart Not Letting Someone Chastise Her For Being Too Old To Ride A Bike

October 22, 2018 / Posted by:

Martha Stewart may be a hardened felon, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still enjoy the simple things in life, like baking weed cookies with Snoop Dogg or noodling around The Cape on her e-bike. She’s posted evidence of both on her personal Instagram page, yet because not even Martha Stewart herself can have nice things, some hater had to let her know she’s too damn old to be riding a bike.

Martha, who is 77-years-young (yes, even I hate myself for doing that. Don’t @me), posted the following on her MarthaStewart48 Instagram page.

Rather than get their panties in a bunch over the fact that this picture is basically an advertisement, wrapped in a promotion, and served with a side of product placement, some account called @seafoodopedia got worked up because they thought Martha was setting a bad example by being a senior citizen while pretending to ride a bike. But don’t worry, Martha didn’t take the criticism sitting down.

Take that, Seafoodopedia! We may never know what it is about a woman on a bike that irked Seafoodopedia to the point of outrage. Maybe it has something to do with that old Gloria Steinem quote about a fish needing a bicycle like a woman needs a man? At any rate, they doubled down on their fury by responding to a commentator who defended Martha’s decision. @bgl52 said:

I pity you for not knowing that in Europe there are millions of elderly people who use the bicycle as a means of getting around. I imagine you’ll lock yourself at home at 50.

To which the Instagram account for an app that helps you identify fishes shouted:

seafoodopedia @bgl52 but she‘s not 50 not even 60 she‘s past 70!!!

Thankfully, Martha’s moved on from the debate and is now all…

And that folks, is the final word on what Martha is – and what Martha ain’t – gonna do.
