Jennifer Lopez Lost A Permanent Restraining Order Against Her Alleged Stalker

This isn’t a story about Drake repeatedly showing up outside of Jennifer Lopez’s bedroom window in the middle of the night playing an acoustic version of Booty on a guitar. This is about a real stalker, and one that Jennifer Lopez is having a hell of a time keeping away from her house.

TMZ says that all this started after JLo noticed that a guy named Tim McLanahan was following her from her residence in Las Vegas to her home in Los Angeles. She also accuses him of going to her Vegas shows, and sending her unwanted mail and flowers. Tim had already been arrested once for trespassing on her property in Los Angeles. A judge granted her a temporary restraining order at the beginning of January.

JLo wanted to make that temporary restraining order a permanent one, but she had a tight deadline to work with. So her security team decided to handle the restraining order business, but they messed it up. Apparently they couldn’t locate Stalker Tim to serve him the restraining order papers, so they bailed on a court appearance this morning. TMZ says a judge responded to that by dismissing JLo’s restraining order.

TMZ points out that there’s a process to serve someone with a restraining order in the event they’re MIA. It involves a judge granting permission to print an ad in a legal newspaper.

JLo obviously still wants a restraining order against Stalker Tim, so she’s re-delegated that to her legal team. They plan on escalating things and trying to get that permanent restraining order.

I don’t want to call JLo’s security team lazy, but…honestly, how hard did they really try to find Stalker Tim? Here’s what I know about Stalker Tim: he really loves JLo. I can’t believe that not one member of her security team thought to dress up as JLo (aka nude fabric gown and forced sexy face) and hold a fake autograph signing outside her house.
