Colton Haynes Is Now Out Out

John Travolta can now remove Colton Haynes’ name from the mailbox outside of The Closet®, because he’s officially, officially out of there. Not that he was totally in.

Earlier this year, Colton Haynes, from Arrow and Teen Wolf, shrugged on Tumblr when someone mentioned the twink-on-twink pictures he took for gay magazine XY back in the day. Someone on Tumblr said that they got excited after finding out about Colton’s secret gay past and he answered with, “Was it a secret? Let’s just all enjoy life and have no regrets.” That was a sort-of coming out, but now he has really 100% come out about his love of man ass and peen during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

When that Tumblr post became news, Colton says that he thought he should just spit out a “Yup, I’m Gay!” on the cover of People, or something, but he wasn’t ready.

“It was a complete shock. I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines,” says Haynes, who is in fact gay but has never publicly addressed his sexuality (and, like many others on his path, took advice early in his career to subdue it). “I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready. I didn’t feel like I owed anyone anything. I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said.

27-year-old Colton suffers from clinical anxiety, which has given him an ulcer and has caused him to faint. Because of his health, he walked away from Arrow. After those “Did Colton Haynes Just Come Out?” headlines made the rounds, he checked himself into rehab for anxiety and regularly visited the hospital over the next few months.

The pressure of being that perfect straight dude “GQ image” got to his ass and he said that he was acting all of the time, even at home. Shit was exhausting, but now he’s past it and has never been happier:

“It took me so long to get to this point, but I’m doing so good. I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s what I care about.”

Congratulations, Colton Haynes! I would welcome you to the club by giving you an inflatable rainbow unicorn, but I see that you already have one of those:

So let’s see, Colton Haynes is out. And Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon are playing Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in a Ryan Murphy show. The only way this day could get better is if TMZ posts a brand new video of rainbow sparkler Richard Simmons doing cartwheels down Santa Monica Blvd.
