Brooke Shields Will Probably Join The View

Elisabeth Hasselcrack is out, Joy Behar is out and now there's a rumor that Barbara Walters is also leaving the den of cackling hyenas, because she thinks that with all the changes happening to the show, now would be a good time to take her final bow. Right now, there's two slots to fill (Fun fact: 2Slots2Fill is John Travolta's profile name on Gaydar), but there could be three if Barbara Walters quits that bitch. Showbiz411 says that one of the empty chairs is probably going to go to Brooke Shields.

When the rumor that Joy Behar was leaving came out, Brooke's name came up as a possibility for her replacement. Brooke's name is apparently sitting at the top of the list and Barbara really wants her. Brooke hasn't yet signed her name in blood on a contract, but she's very close to doing it.

Brooke Shields is smart, articulate and she seems sane, which is why she has no business being on The View! Sane thoughts do not belong on The View. With Joy, Elisabeth and maybe Barbara gone, the insanity levels have dropped and casting Brooke isn't going to bring them up. I want to see meltdowns. I want incoherent rants. I want to see chairs, weaves and fists flying. What I'm saying is that ABC should just cancel The View and instead air backstage footage from Good Morning America of Sam Champion throwing a fit when the tanning bed in his dressing room breaks down.

3. She did a spot-on impression of Elizabeth McGovern in one of the later Jimmy Fallon Downton Sixby installments. She's funny. Would love to see her in another comedy show.

I just would like to echo what a few posters have already stated - I think it's actually nice to see a celebrity who doesn't have that horrific Beverly Hills hatchet job face. I like how she's embracing getting older and not fleeing towards the Botox and surgeries.

Interesting to me that Brooke Shields would wind up so very stable and sane and . . . normal! I mean, considering her background with her stage-mother of all mothers and being a former child star and model, you would think she'd have Britney Speared or Amanda Byned the fuck out long ago. I don't compliment many celebrities, but I like that she's so down to earth.

All that said, however, "The View" is a sunk ship and I don't think she should join the cast. That mess is a messier mess than it has been in years. Glad the Hasselcrack was given the pink slip. Can't stand that shrieking, self-righteous shrew.

Agreed. Time to cancel. Barbara was the leader and without her it's a different show. Cher should do a daytime show with Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin. Maybe Janeane Garofalo or Drew Barrymore for the fourth. Courtney Love for the fourth. She brings that crazy Rosie factor and could instigate feuds with people for ratings. Oprah will probably make her own version of The View if she doesn't have it already.

She looks just fine for her age. I am around the same age group, and I think that my high school and college friends would be happy to look like Brooke. My only same-age friends whose skin still looks great are from darker skinned origins. Many of us put people down for their looks after using plastic surgery, botox, etc., so let's allow people to age naturally. She seems like a nice, intelligent, and harmless person.

I used to like Brooke and then those Latisse commercials just turned me off to her. What made it worse was those new furniture and glasses ads as well. I mean is she that hard up for cash or exposure? I think she can act, so why not get a damn acting job that doesn't require selling out for a brand. Just my honest opinion.

She's beautiful. I've seen bitches botoxed an inch away from death that had no wrinkles at all, and didn't look half as beautiful as Brooke does.

hells pay me a couple of millions of dollars a year and i'll sit on a chair and flap my gums for an hour about shit.

YES!! I've been watching a whole lotta European tv shows lately, and let me just say this: what a fucking relief is to see real looking people. Wrinkles, belly fat, human teeth, sun spots. I watch American shows and just can't believe the amount of fakiness. 99% of actors look like freaks. There is nothing natural about them and it's just fucking pathetic.

While I have never watched the view, and never will, its amusing to see folks get so wound up because of hassleback's politics. Its not like the rest of the gals aren't dumber than a box of rocks and say the most asinine things imaginable from time to time.

Well, best of luck, brooks, I will never see you, but I am sure it will go well--if you are liberal, you needn't worry about getting criticized for saying anything stupid.

PS. Glad to hit that... I think brooks is about a foot taller than me, so that just makes it even more enticing.

If they're getting rid of Elisabeth because of her VIEWS on politics, that is just plain wrong. She's far from a right-right winger. She's mellowed a lot the last few years. Brooke I agree will be too bland. Alexandra Wentworth's name was being thrown around and I'd go with her instead. This show is still so much better than "The Talk".

Dermabrasion can have a lot of negative side effects like the development of rosacea. Some of my friends started as early as they're late 20's and after a year or two of regular treatments some developed rosacea.

I hope Brooke doesn't succumb to the pressure to live up to a certain ideal. Wrinkles are ok.

I met Brooke when she was in her late 30's and she looked gorgeous. Yes, she had wrinkles around the eyes, but her look and smile was undeniably the same one she had in the Blue Lagoon. She looked younger in person than in pictures. Very classy woman.

I also met Brooke while I was doing retail in a south beach boutique. She was the nicest and most down to earth person there. This was in 2009. She even called to thank us for the goodie bag we sent to her room. I took the call and couldn't believe how nice she was on the phone. Love her.

If Barbara "leaves" the show, she's just going to vacate her chair, right? I assumed that she would still produce it or whatever behind the scenes stuff she does now? It'll be nice to not have every host on the show have to kiss her ass & watch what celebs they bash if she's not there. Also, I'd rather see the backstage shenanigans at the Today show vs. GMA. GMA seems like they actually like & support one another, especially Robin.
