Alexander McQueen Has Died

This is shocking and sad news out of the UK. Hopefully, someone got it twisted and this is not true, because it hasn’t been officially confirmed.

The Daily Mail and The Sun (I know, I know) are saying that 40-year-old British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London apartment yesterday. Sources say that Alexander committed suicide by hanging himself. A source at Alexander’s office said this:

“It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.”

Alexander, who has dressed everyone from Madonna to Bjork to Beyonce to yours truly (I have an McQ t-shirt I bought at Off 5th), was due to unveil his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week next month.

Alexander’s mother Joyce passed away a week ago. He wrote on his Twitter page (it has seen been deleted) at the time: “I’m letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIPmumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. but life must go on.”

Sad Update: A rep for Alexander McQueen’s office confirms to the BBC that he has died. Rest in Peace, Alexander…
