Chris Evans Speaks Out Against Backlash Over A Same Sex Kiss In ‘Lightyear’
Leave it to the homophobes to make Pride month just a little less prideful with their constant need to complain. Even during a time when the LGBTQ+ community should be celebrated, there’s always going to be someone ready to throw holy water on the rainbow flag like it’s some kind of demon from The Exorcist. However, this new hate comes in response to a damn Pixar movie. In the upcoming film Lightyear, based on butch daddy Buzz Lightyear from the beloved Toy Story franchise, a character voiced by Uzo Aduba kisses her wife during a montage and the moment created some backlash, with theaters in the UAE refusing to screen the film entirely. Well now Chris Evans, who voices Buzz in the film, is speaking out against those folks and basically calling them a bunch of antiquated assholes who need to shut up and have several seats.

Of course, trolls can’t stay gone for very long and she eventually apologized and clawed her way back. This time, she decided to go after Pixar for casting Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear in their Toy Story spin-off, Lightyear, instead of her friend/stable dude (I kid) Tim Allen who originated the role in the original Toy Story movies.
