Tom Hanks Admits To Being A Jerk Sometimes On Movie Sets

In his five-decades-long career, America’s alleged sweetheart Tom Hanks has managed to propel through the years with an almost unscathed public image- with the exception of occasionally being dragged on “pizza gate” Twitter and, of course, helping to create his fail son , Chet Hanks. But what’s this? Tom recently soft-launched the notion that (Gasp!) he can sometimes be a diva!? Honestly, we know, Tom. Henry Winkler already warned us!

During an interview with the BBC to promote his novel, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, he describes one of the characters to be a primadonna-type actor who disrupts and delays filming for a big-budget superhero movie. Tom said that his book was written with his own messy behavior in mind from his days on set when he wasn’t in the mood to be a Mr. Nice Guy, according to The Hollywood Reporter:

“I have pulled every single one of those moments of behavior myself on a set,” Hanks admits. “Not everybody is at their best every single day on a motion picture set. I’ve had tough days trying to be a professional when my life has been falling apart in more ways than one and the requirement for me that day is to be funny, charming and loving — and it’s the last way I feel.”

He must’ve been acting Grade A unhinged to decide his actor-antics would be more entertaining for the story than plucking inpso from almost anything that’s come out of Chet’s Instagram stories the past two years. And of course, no story taking place in Hollywood would be complete without featuring celebs behaving badly:

Indeed, in the book he refers to actors who are “cry-babies, psychological train wrecks, on-the-wagon alcoholics, off-the-wagon addicts… and more than a couple of feuds between the Talent.”

There’s mention of sexual harassment too.

Who could he have been inspired by? Needless to say, Hanks just laughs when asked to name names.

In other words: “This all happened, and I’m just gonna veil this memoir as fiction, change the names, switch out the movie sets, and viola! No one gets sued!”
