Gabrielle Union Admits She Felt “Entitled” To Cheat During Her First Marriage

Gabrielle Union‘s unchanged vampire face has been a huge part of the culture since her days as a thirty-year-old teenager in the classic film Bring It On. And during that time, another thing she loved shaking her pompoms for was extramarital affairs. Of course, it’s something she no longer engages in after her current husband Dwyane Wade matched her energy by saying “Two can play that game my love” and their union has become stronger (and sexier) over the years as a result. But Gabrielle admits her first marriage, to ex-NFL player Chris Howard, had no redeeming qualities other than knowing she could cheat whenever she wanted to since she was the one making all of the money.

Page Six reports during a recent interview with Dax Shepherd and Monica Padman on their Armchair Expert podcast, the subject of Gabrielle’s first marriage came up, and she probably informed them to break out more wine before she responded. When she and Chris were together between 2001 and 2006 she admitted that their marriage put the “fun” in the word dysfunctional. And one of the ways she ensured the divorce proceedings would be accelerated was by entertaining other men mainly because, since she was the primary breadwinner, she could.

“I was paying all the bills, I was working my ass off and I felt like that’s what comes [with it],” the actress, 50, recalled on Monday’s episode of Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s “Armchair Expert” podcast.

The “Bring It On” star called infidelity “the spoils of riches,” adding, “Like my dad before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want, is what I thought.”

Now, before you go thinking Gabrielle was spending most days dropping it low for anyone who showed her attention Chris was out in the streets doing the exact same thing. And because of the volatile nature of their relationship, Gabrielle did whatever she could to ensure Chris realized she could think like a man, too.

“Neither one of us felt like our marriage should get in the way of our dating,” she joked.

“Part of it was keeping up with his activities,” she continued. “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s what you’re doing? Oh, you’re gonna feel this one.’”

The “We’re Going to Need More Wine” author called the romance a “stupid” one that “should have never gotten out of the dating phase,” explaining that she and the athlete, 47, had “not one thing in common, no morals, no values, no scruples.”

Hey man, Chris’ loss was Dwyane’s gain. And the two of them have no problems letting us (and their poor children) know they love to slam dunk each other’s nether regions whenever possible. But this tale may also explain how her now-ended feud with Jada Pinkett-Smith began back in the day because Jada probably asked her “How do you and Chris keep your marriage spicy?” to which Gabrielle smirked and replied, “Entanglements, girl.”
