Open Post: Hosted By Miley Cyrus Threatening To Go Brunette And Scaring Dolly Parton
We’re almost another year around the sun, and who better to guide us home than down-home country gal Miley Cyrus? She’ll be hosting Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party alongside her godmother/American saint Dolly Parton and will be crooning her greatest hits, all while keeping her shirt on. To promote the program, Miley shared the story of how she almost gave Dolly a heart attack. Look, the last thing we need to cap off 2022 is something happening to Dolly, especially at the hands of Miley Cyrus!
Miley sat down with Hoda Kotb to talk about music, embracing death (i.e., turning 30 in Hollywood), and co-hosting the new special with Dolly. Miley revealed that she wanted to go brunette for 2023. When she told her godmother her big plan, Dolly gasped and clutched her pearls in SHOCK like a true Southern woman. via Yahoo! Life:
“I’ve never seen Dolly actually scared before,” Cyrus told “Today” host Hoda Kotb, 58. “But I told her, ‘At the end of the year, I just really want to do something different. I think I’m going to dye my hair brunette.’ She acted like I told her the worst news you can imagine. She clutched her pearls, gasped and went back, and she goes, ‘You can’t do that. You are me.'”
“I am somehow some extension of Dolly Parton where she looked like I had just given her the worst news you’ve ever heard. So, I will be blonde. We will be either complementing each other, matching or being completely the opposite, because me and Dolly, she says, ‘You be you, I be me and together, we’ve got the perfect show.'”

This story is evidence that Dolly has good taste and never saw an episode of Hannah Montana (apart from maaaybe the episode she guest starred in). Miley played a brunette at least half of the time on that show! I guess the two reached a compromise for this New Year’s special because Miley seems to have topped her brown hair with a blonde mop…
Anyway, we can all rest easy now and have a happy new year. Dolly is alive and she and Miley will both be very natural blondes for 2022 AND 2023. Just as God intended!
