Michelle Branch Called Off Her Divorce To Patrick Carney

Today in “NOOOOOO!”, Michelle Branch has called off her divorce from her no-good, allegedly cheating husband, Patrick Carney, aka one of the guys from The Black Keys. Well, at least for now. TMZ reports that Michelle, 39, and Patrick, 42, will press pause on divorce proceedings for at least six months as they attempt to reconcile. After that, the couple will decide if they want to call the divorce off entirely or move forward with the split. I think I can speak for everyone, including Haley McDonald from Full Stop Management, when I say: dump his ass, Michelle!*

*but also, like, do what’s best for you and your kids? Sigh.

In case you’re not up to date, Patrick was allegedly cheating on Michelle with his 27-year-old manager, Haley McDonald from Full Stop Management, while Michelle was at home with their 6-month-old daughter, Willie Jacquet (the couple also has a 4-year-old son, Rhys James, and Michelle has a 17-year-old daughter, Owen, from her previous marriage). When Michelle found out, she tweeted out that exact information. At 2:00 AM that same night (August 11), Michelle was arrested for domestic violence after slapping Patrick “one or two times.” She was released soon after because she was still breastfeeding. The next morning, Michelle informed TMZ that her marriage was dunzo, and she was devastated for herself and her kids. The very next day she filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Whew! That’s a jam-packed 48 hours!

But, apparently, in the last four weeks, Michelle had some second thoughts about ending things. Maybe she thought about her young kids. Or maybe Patrick sweet-talked (or sweet-sang *shudder*) his way back into her heart. TMZ got their hands on the latest court docs, and they say that, during the couple’s 6-month attempt at reconciliation, they may resume living together as husband and wife. They may also do couples counseling to help their relationship.

I honestly don’t know how you come back from such a public cheating scandal. Maybe Michelle and Patrick should hire a relationship therapist who specializes in these matters. Dr. Khloe Kardashian, for example?
