As many know, Shakira is accused of not paying $15 million in taxes in Spain from 2012 to 2014. Shakira claims she wasn’t a permanent resident of Spain at that time and her primary residence is a private island she co-owns with Roger Waters. Not suspicious or obvious at all! Well, prosecutors offered her a plea deal which she rejected. So now the case is going to trial and prosecutors recommend that if she’s found guilty, she should be sentenced to 8 years and 3 months in the clink and be hit with a $24 million fine. If Shakira actually ever sees the inside of a Spanish prison, she’ll probably become the queen of that shit. I mean, yes, she’s a rich person whose skin breaks out into a peasant rash if touched by sheets with less than a 1,000 thread count, but she’s also taken on wild boars – AP
