The Rock Walks Back His Support Of Joe Rogan
After a group of doctors, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and many more slapped at Spotify for letting Joe Rogan spew COVID-19 misinformation as fact, Joe himself released a response where he admitted that the shit he says on his podcast is not “prepared” or “fleshed-out” and that he agrees with Spotify’s decision to put disclaimers before every podcast episode that discusses Coronavirus. Joe also said he’s open to having more experts with different opinions on his show. That was good enough for wannabe POTUS, The Rock, who patted fellow baldie Joe Rogan on the head for giving a good apology and also plugged his tequila brand by leaving this note in the comments of Joe’s video: “Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.” But after a video made the rounds of Joe Rogan mouth-sharting out the n-word like nothing, The Rock put down his Team Rogan sign and backed away. Welcome to another edition of When Being A Both Sides Guy Goes Wrong!
The Rock didn’t only show support for Joe Rogan in the comments of Joe’s video, he also decided to single out a woman named Cheri Jacobus, a former GOPer and Never Trumper, who called out The Rock for praising Joe Rogan.
@CheriJacobus
Hi Cheri,
Good morning, it’s DJ.
You’re all over my timeline so I wanted to share some context with you so hopefully you’re no longer triggered by headlines you read. I thought his response was contrite and more importantly, open to change to becoming better.— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) February 3, 2022
That leads us to India Arie. It was reported last week that India Arie was one of the artists who joined Neil Young in pulling her music off of Spotify over them giving Joe Rogan a platform to play Dr. Joe Rogan and deliver medical misinformation to his millions of listeners. But on Thursday, India took to her Instagram Stories and clarified the real reason why she is fucking done with Spotify. She posted a clip of Joe Rogan calling a Black neighborhood “Planet of the Apes” and followed that up with a supercut of him casually saying the n-word as much as he says, “I read it Facebook” and “Mam, can you grab the cereal box on the middle shelf for me please.” India says that’s the reason why. India adds that Joe can say whatever he wants, but she can also choose to be done with a platform that pays artists pennies for their music while paying Joe Rogan $100 million. India does not want the money Spotify makes from streaming her music to go into Joe Rogan’s pockets.
Yeah @indiaarie got the best Rogan take and if he talk shit we ride on him pic.twitter.com/AtEyHIoPjt

Not to mention that Joe Rogan also once told a biracial man that he’s got a “powerful combination” of genes since he’s got the “body of a Black man” and the “mind of a white man” before adding that Black people have a “different brain.” Spotify didn’t have shit to say about India’s post but they reportedly pulled 70 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday, and it’s safe to assume they pulled the episodes of Joe Rogan turning his podcast into The Joe Rogan EKKKperience. But while Spotify kept their lips shut, Joe Rogan did not and in a video response, he said he was horrified while watching the clip, but that the old clips were taken out of context. Joe says that he’s not racist and that he hasn’t said the n-word in years, but that there was a time when he thought it was okay for him to say it “in context.”
Joe Rogan saying racist shit was news to The Rock who took back his love for Joe Rogan and also apologized to Cheri Jacobus.
Dear @donwinslow
Thank you so much for this
I hear you as well as everyone here 100%
I was not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but now I've become educated to his complete narrative.
Learning moment for me.Mahalo, brother and have a great & productive weekend.

Hi @CheriJacobus,
I owe you a sincere apology.
I didn’t show up the way I would’ve liked to in our dialogue and my language to you was offensive.
I apologize.
Thank you and your followers for all the dialogue here.
Have a great & productive weekend.

And after The Rock backed away from his Joe Rogan support, Donald Trump Jr. and Caitlyn Jenner, slammed The Rock over past transphobic tweets of his. So this has all turned into a clusterfuck of NO. And well, one person who is probably having a great day today is Vin Diesel since watching his rival get dragged from all sides is probably his favorite pastime.
