Open Post: Hosted By A Sneaky Cat Stealing A Ball From A Dog

January 29, 2022 / Posted by:

Happy Caturday! If you currently don’t have an eye on your cat, then I suggest you do so right now because you may be missing a few of your favorite watches and necklaces! Cats are pretty stealthy but one purloining pussy was caught ON CAMERA snatching a tennis ball from a clueless dog. Taking things that aren’t yours right from under someone’s nose and then getting caught? Jamie Spears, is that you?!

Boing Boing brought us the play-by-play:

With a devious stare, this stealthy cat demonstrates just how to steal a ball from an unsuspecting pooch. Mastering the pinned back ears and calculated ball-under-chin maneuver look like essential steps in getting the job done.

Here’s the cat channeling their inner Catherine Zeta-Jones in Entrapment (more like EnCATment):

There are clearly two levels of intelligence at play here. I imagine numerous calculations going on in the cat’s brain while the dog’s head is simply an arid desert with nary a thought in sight. The pooch dopily watches along while the felonious feline plots, schemes, strategizes, devises, and flawlessly executes the perfect crime. And knowing cats, this one probably took the ball, pushed it around for a maximum of two minutes, and then cast it aside to hassle something else. But who hasn’t wanted something so badly, got it, and then forgotten about it the next day? It’s why we love cats, they’re just like us!
