Open Post: Hosted By A Corgi Outgrowing His Favorite Napping Spot

There’s a famous saying that goes: “Time makes fools of us all.” For some, that means, “maybe you should stop wearing that pooka necklace” while for others it means that we must move on from the things we’ve outgrown (yes, this is also referencing that pooka necklace). A little corgi puppy named Cooper has struggled to learn this lesson. In a viral TikTok video, Cooper is shown continually attempting to squeeze into his favorite napping spot in spite of having outgrown it. This sounds uncomfortably similar to my ongoing battle with a certain pair of pre-COVID pants!

Cooper’s human documented his growth spurt and shared a video montage of his adorable refusal to give up his napping shelf under the TV. Via Newsweek:

A video montage of a little corgi puppy outgrowing his favorite napping spot has captured hearts online, having attracted more than 20.6 million views.

In the clip, which was shared to TikTok by an account called Cooperauggiethecorgi, we can see the puppy, whose name is Cooper, walking around a living room.

The camera then cuts to a shot of the small pet snoozing on the bottom shelf of a wooden television unit, looking very content.

What follows is montage of different snaps of Cooper relaxing in the same spot, however in each one he has gotten a bit bigger.

By the last slide the animal barely fits on the shelf.

Text overlaying the clip, which can be watched here, reads: “POV: You’re watching your puppy slowly outgrow his favorite spot.”

Since the clip was shared to TikTok on October 20 it has gained lots of traction online, having surpassed 4.8 million likes and 95,400 shares.

The stubborn determination of Cooper is oddly inspiring. It reminds me of the time I insisted that my Hollister cargo pants were still IT and it was 2010. No one could convince me otherwise. However, I eventually accepted that they were clearly not made for the latter half of the new millennium and had to toss them out. Now I own skinny jeans which I’ve recently discovered are also no longer in fashion. The moral is: You will never win.

May Cooper the puppy show more wisdom than 2010 fully adult me and find a wonderful new sleeping spot for his adorable little naps!
