Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice‘s marriage to Joe Giudice ended after he got her wrapped up in financial crimes which she allegedly didn’t know anything about and they both wound up in prison. (Sound familiar? History repeats itself!) Teresa and Joe split up in 2019 after Joe had been deported back to Italy once he served his sentence. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. Also in 2020, 49-year-old Teresa met a new piece, 46-year-old businessman Luis “Louie” Ruelas. Time for them to book his and hers tanning bed appointments for the next couple of decades, because Luis popped the question and Teresa is newly engaged.
People says that back in March, Teresa was on Watch What Happens Live! and explained to her Housewives Coven-leader, Andy Cohen, that she was really into Luis. When he asked if the two were thinking of marriage, she said: “I mean, you know, I feel it, so we’ll see what happens… I really feel like he’s my soulmate.” She also told Andy that Luis was such a stand-up dude that he wanted to meet Joe and talk to him since Teresa and Joe share four kids together, Gia, 20, Gabriella, 17, Milania, 15, and Audriana, 12. So they met in the Bahamas and Luis let Joe know “he’s not trying to take his place or anything. But he just wanted to meet him, ’cause I have daughters.”
How sweet, well Teresa’s kids may never call Luis “Daddy,” but Teresa might after he proposed to her in the most over-the-top engagement which was like if Travis Barker was on a budget and tackier when he proposed to Kourtney Kardashian. People has the details:
Ruelas popped the question on Tuesday at the Amanzoe Resort in Porto Heli, Greece, incorporating sparklers, candles, roses, a violinist and a fireworks display into his proposal.
“It was absolutely exquisite,” a source tells PEOPLE. “The choreographed fireworks display illuminated a “Marry Me” sign as Louie got down on one knee. Teresa was completely surprised.”
Giudice’s close friend and former RHONJ costar Dina Manzo and her husband Dave Cantin were both present for the big moment. The group celebrated until 5 a.m., drinking champagne and dining on lobster, sea bass and lamb chops at the resort’s restaurant, Nama.
Teresa was SO SURPRISED…. even with photographers there to capture it all for People. I mean, if a Real Housewife gets engaged and no one is around to professionally photograph it for a celebrity weekly, did it even happen?

Well, this is one way to make sure her RHoNJ contract gets renewed. But this engagement is incomplete without Teresa’s rival Danielle Staub recreating that iconic “ENGAGED 19 TIMES” moment from RHoNJ by screaming, “ENGAGED! You fucking stupid bitch!” before flipping a table and going after Tre with a fork.
