Candace Cameron Bure Has “PTSD” From Hosting “The View”

Candace Cameron Bure is hurting. The Fuller House and made-for-tv Hallmark movie Queen was on The View’s podcast Behind The Table this week. Candace explained that her short time on the show was intense and sometimes she would cry before work. BEEN THERE! If you think crying before work makes you special you must never have worked retail. But The View was a lot for poor Candace and she says that now she has a form of PTSD. Yeah, one shift at American Eagle on a Black Friday would end this woman’s psyche.

Candace was a co-host on the 19th and 20th seasons of The View from 2015 to 2016. Her flame was not to burn bright and she left. And it seems that Candace struggled on The View and sometimes she would be “crying before the show,” via People:

“The stress and the anxiety–I actually have a pit in my stomach right now. There was only one type of stress that I’ve ever felt in my life, that came from that show. And I [have] PTSD, like, I can feel it. It was so difficult, and to manage that emotional stress was very, very hard.”

Cameron Bure, who felt “pressure” to represent conservatives on national television, also said the topics being discussed every day were a big part of the challenge for her. “[I was] just trying to understand and have a general grasp of topics that I didn’t want to talk about or didn’t care about.”

…”When I felt like I was going into a show that I didn’t have a clear opinion about or it was something that I was legitimately nervous to talk about because I did have an opinion about it but I knew I was the only one at the table that had my opinion, I would just get sick to my stomach,” she said. “I hated that feeling. And then I’m like, “I don’t know who’s going to come at me.”

Cameron also said the schedule “took its toll” on her. But this isn’t Candace biting the hand that fed her well for two years and re-started her career in the Hallmark circuit, because she doesn’t “regret anything, honestly. I feel like there were so many wonderful takeaways from the show. And as difficult as that job was, I’m very, very grateful for it.”

Cameron explained part of her trauma came from thinking that the show would be light and fun, and then Donald Trump ran for President and The View made a turn into being uber political. As we know, Candace usually stays out of serious issues, which is why she went off about vaccine mandates recently.

“When I was asked to join the table, the show was supposed to steer towards more ever-green topics and less about politics. Enter Donald Trump into the presidential race. It changed everything… The lighter version of the show I thought I was going to work for suddenly became solely about politics. I felt like I was back in school, doing 4-5 hours of homework a night. It was exhausting.”

Raven-Symoné, who co-hosted the same years as Cameron before she too left to return to her acting career, was also on the podcast and talked about how she too was “catfished” into a political gig.

How could Candace think The View wasn’t political? Did she think she was signing on for the Ricki Lake Show? In what universe was the creator of the series, Barbara Walters, a frivolous talk show host who brought together a bunch of women to knit and not talk politics? I call foul! Barbara is gonna slick Candace’s stairs with Astroglide and let a trick have it over this slander!
