Ryan Seacrest’s Team Reportedly Staged An Intervention Over Him Working So Much

Us Weekly spoke to sources who say that Ryan Seacrest was working himself ragged. 46-year-old Ryan has tons of gigs between his radio show, American Idol, and Live With Kelly & Ryan. But working that much is tiring, even to a robot like Ryan. So his team “staged an intervention” to get him to slow down. Counter-offer: what if Ryan Seacrest stopped altogether?

Ryan may have the youthful energy to keep up with his 23-year-old girlfriend but that doesn’t mean he can handle working so much. Last year, Ryan reportedly had ABC executives worried he was working too hard, and there was a rumor he had a stroke on American Idol–which his people have denied. He may be back in a bad way, as Ryan missed some hosting work on Live at the end of last month, and was temporarily replaced by Kelly Ripa‘s husband, Mark Consuelos–which was no problem for Kelly as a source told Us:

“Kelly is a pro and knows the show must go on. She would of course have missed her cohost, but Mark did a fantastic job supporting her and the whole cast when he stepped in this week.”

Recently, Ryan has been back on Live and also shared pictures of him with the American Idol crew as they start working on the 20th season which is premiering sometime in 2022.

But it’s not just ribbon-cuttings and dinners with the crew, Ryan works hard and his people told him to slow down. Another source told Us that his “team was so concerned they staged an intervention… Ryan’s in bad [shape].” But not everyone thinks that Ryan is burning out. A third source defended his work-horse work ethic:

“Ryan has been doing his [radio show] live on the air, [and is getting ready] to head to Austin for American Idol auditions… He recognizes he needs to find windows of time to rest during these busy windows of work.”

I guess Ryan just has to work all the time because how else will he keep living such a wealthy lifestyle that it makes people uncomfortable? He needs to keep showing Tori Spelling what she’s missing!
