Jake Gyllenhaal Swears That He Actually Does Bathe Regularly

September 20, 2021 / Posted by:

Jake Gyllenhaal needs to clear the air. And previous to today, that might have you picturing Jake Gyllenhaal with a strong fan and the largest aerosol container of air freshener commercially available, facing the daunting task of clearing the air of any residual dirty hair fumes or armpit clouds that might still be lingering after he entered a room. Because last month while promoting Prada’s new fragrance, Jake revealed to Vanity Fair that he finds bathing “to be less necessary, at times” and that “we naturally clean ourselves.” It sounded like his bathing habits were much like that of a child belonging to the Bell-Shepard or Kunis-Kutcher families. But Jake has let everyone know that he is a person who bathes, contrary to what he implied previously.

Over the weekend, Jake attended a Q&A for his new film The Guilty, and he’s guilty, alright…of actually washing his face, pits, and ass more than he lead us to believe. Jake kind of made a joke about not washing, before offering up a clarification that he’s not a walking ball of grease and deceased skin cells. via The Independent:

Asked about his hygiene routine, he joked: “By the way, I [filmed] an independent film, of course I don’t shower. What are you writing about? Of course, we don’t have money for the showers. I think, by the way, anyone who’s used a trailer, has the shower ever really worked? They don’t work in trailers, the sinks barely do.”

Addressing his previous comments, the 40-year-old said: “I don’t know what it was, it was an answer to a question where I was being sarcastic and ironic and it has followed me around. Unfortunately I showered before I came here so I’m sorry about that.”

Sorry to whom? Did Jake think that Q&A was sponsored by a B.O. fetish group?

Okay so Jake Gyllenhaal bathes. Regularly. I’m glad for him, and for anyone who has to be within 6 feet of him. But this is terrible news for Prada. How are they going to sell the potency and efficacy of their fragrance now? So what – it makes a clean, freshly-showered, hot hunk smell even better. I want the fragrance that can make you forget the hunk you’re hooking up with still has the same bottle of body wash in their shower that they bought in 2009.
