Wendy Williams Has Reportedly Checked Into A Hospital For Psychiatric Evaluation

This week, it was announced that 57-year-old Wendy Williams got a “breakthrough case” of COVID-19 and so the start of her talk show’s new season was postponed. But TMZ reports that Wendy is going through a lot more. On Tuesday, Wendy voluntarily checked into a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. .

Because Wendy caught the “cornova” virus, the start of the new season of The Wendy Williams Show was pushed from September 20 to October 4. That new start date could be up in the air as well. Sources say that on top of getting coronavirus (Wendy also has Graves disease), she is dealing with mental health issues and has for a while. via TMZ:

Sources close to Wendy tell us the talk show host was voluntarily admitted to an NYC hospital Tuesday for a psych evaluation. Our sources say Wendy has struggled with mental health issues for some time, so this was not a big shock.

On top of that, Wendy does have COVID, but she’s asymptomatic, and doctors continue to monitor her physical health as well.

It’s uncertain when she’ll be released, but we’re told her mental health continues to improve each day. And, our sources say, her COVID is still in check with no real symptoms.

Page Six spoke to a spokesperson from the NYPD who told them that at 8:43 a.m. on Tuesday, an ambulance responded to Wendy’s Manhattan address and a “57-year-old resident” was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. A source added that Wendy has been in a bad place and doesn’t have much support around her.

Amid the reports of her mental health check, a source told Page Six she is lonely and continues to struggle with her health. “It has been a very difficult time for Wendy. She’s a single woman with very few friends. She lost her marriage, her mom, and is living alone,” our source shared. “There is a lot on her plate.”

…After Williams’ show announced she’d be skipping her promotional activities, a source told Page Six they were skeptical that the former shock jock would make it to the premiere. “People are tight-lipped about it, but there are whispers that she won’t be there,” one Williams source told us.

You know, even though Wendy Williams has talked shit about everyone, and dragged the hair follicles from more people who were down on their luck (or dead), I still see people being nice to her. Especially one, Tabitha Brown, who would kindly look past Wendy’s bullshit comments about Tabitha’s marriage and send her all the love and vegan goodness.
