Wendy Williams Got COVID-19, Delaying The New Season Of Her Talk Show

Last week 57-year-old Wendy Williams canceled all her public appearances because of “health issues.” Wendy’s gone through it the last few years, so “health issues” could’ve been anything from Graves’ Disease, uncontrollable gas, sobriety issues, or whatever happened that time she fell in Statue of Liberty drag. But today The Wendy Williams Show’s Instagram posted that the illness in question is actually a breakthrough case of COVID-19, and the premiere of this coming season will be delayed from September 20 to October 4. So does this mean Wendy will finally learn how to pronounce “coronavirus” properly? Magic 8-Ball says: Very Doubtful.

Here’s the show’s Instagram post about Wendy’s case of COVID:

And here’s their initial “Wendy’s not well” post from a few days prior:

Now, “breakthrough” would imply that Wendy was vaccinated, but that’s a little bit up in the air. Back in May, she announced that her show would be welcoming back a limited audience, but everybody would need to be fully vaccinated. But just a couple of months before that, Wendy had Dr. Oz on her show and she told him she didn’t trust the vaccine. Later, Dr. Oz told Inside Edition that he was worried Wendy’s hesitance about the vaccine would negatively influence her viewers, and “she speaks for a lot of women in the Black community”:

People who get their vaccine information from The Wendy Williams Show make the Facebook-research-anti-vaxxers look like Ph.D. candidates. Now, I’d say Wendy getting COVID might actually convince some of them to get the jab, but anti-vaxxers are probably thinking, “Hey, if she was vaccinated, and still got it… what’s the point?” The logic is wild. Vaccinated or not, hopefully, Wendy gets better soon. In the past, she’s come for more than one dead person, and methinks they won’t be the friendliest welcoming committee at the pearly gates!
